O app do Sundance Channel está apresentando mais uma série inglesa que investe em uma trama envolvendo o desaparecimento de uma criança. HOLLINGTON DRIVE conta a história do sumiço do menino Alex (Hugh Hamer) , em uma pequena comunidade do interior da Inglaterra.
A tranquilidade de todos é seriamente abalada pelo caso. Duas irmãs, Theresa (Anna Maxwell Martin) e Helen (Rachael Stirling) começam a suspeitar que seus filhos Eva (Amelie Bea Smith) e Ben (Fraser Holmes) possam saber mais do que dizem sobre o que aconteceu com o coleguinhas de classe.
A série, muito bem feita, mostra como cada uma das irmãs passa a defender (por gestos e palavras) o seu filho, mesmo que isto cause problemas para o sobrinho e para a irmã. Este instinto de sobrevivência é a nota principal da trama.
Outro elemento bastante interessante da série (apenas 4 capítulos de uma hora cada) é, outra vez (tema que já apareceu em muitas tramas recentes) os segredos ocultos em comunidades pequenas e aparentemente pacíficas e sem conflitos. Nada é o que parece.
Mentiras, traições, paixões e ódios vêm à tona, à medida que as investigações avançam. Muito instigante de se ver.
HOLLINGTON DRIVE não se pretende como uma série top de linha. Mas acho que cumpre perfeitamente sua intenção de trazer para o espectador uma trama cheio de atrativos, estrelada por duas atrizes ótimas.
The Sundance Channel app is presenting yet another English series that invests in a plot involving the disappearance of a child. HOLLINGTON DRIVE tells the story of the disappearance of the boy Alex (Hugh Hamer), in a small community in the countryside of England.
Everyone’s peace of mind is seriously shaken by the case. Two sisters, Theresa (Anna Maxwell Martin) and Helen (Rachael Stirling) begin to suspect that their children Eva (Amelie Bea Smith) and Ben (Fraser Holmes) may know more than they say about what happened to their classmate.
The series, very well done, shows how each of the sisters starts to defend (by gestures and words) her son, even if this causes problems for her nephew and sister. This survival instinct is the main note of the plot.
Another very interesting element of the series (only 4 chapters of one hour each) is, again (a theme that has appeared in many recent plots) the secrets hidden in small and apparently peaceful and conflict-free community. Nothing is what it seems.
Lies, betrayals, passions and hatreds come to light as the investigation progresses. Very thought-provoking to see.
HOLLINGTON DRIVE is not intended as a top-of-the-line series. But I think it perfectly fulfills its intention of bringing to the viewer a plot full of attractions, starring two outstanding actresses.
