O primeiro show de Maria Bethânia que eu vi foi PÁSSARO DA MANHÃ, de Fauzi Arap, no distante 1977.
Mais de 45 anos depois, vi o filme de Jardim e encontrei a mesma cantora que me deslumbrou no palco do antigo Teatro da OSPA, em Porto Alegre.
O filme é uma grande entrevista tipo one on one com Bethânia falando de sua vida, de sua arte, de sua paixão pelo palco, de sua mãe, de Caetano, Chico, censura, arte e vida.
Amei ter visto.
Bethânia é uma artista na melhor acepção da palavra.
NOW is showing the feature-length documentary MARIA – NOBODY KNOWS WHO I AM, directed by journalist Carlos Jardim, 37, editor-in-chief at Globonews.
The first Maria Bethânia concert that I saw was MORNING BIRD, by Fauzi Arap, in the distant 1977.
More than 45 years later, I saw Jardim’s film and found the same singer who dazzled me on the stage of the old OSPA Theater, in Porto Alegre.
The film is a great one-on-one interview with Bethânia talking about her life, her art, her passion for the stage, her mother, Caetano, Chico, censorship, art and life.
I loved seeing it.
Bethânia is an artist in the best sense of the word.
