Já tenho programa para o próximo final de semana: a terceira e última temporada da série TED LASSO já está completa na Apple TV+.
Desde que estreou, tenho falado que acho TED LASSO uma série diferenciada no panorama complicado das séries de comédia dramática. Muitas vezes, a produção exagera na comicidade e prejudica a dramaticidade contida na trama. Outras vezes, acentua demais o drama, perdendo as possibilidades mais divertidas da história.
TED LASSO acerta na mosca com a medida drama x humor.
No tumultuado divórcio de um casal inglês, o Richmond – um clube de futebol – fica no patrimônio da ex-esposa. Como as relações entre eles estão em uma fase péssima, a mulher tem a ideia de impor mais sofrimento ao ex, e contrata um técnico americano de futebol (o da bola oval) para ser coach do Richmond.
Ted Lasso (magnífica criação de Jason Sudeikis) é cheio de boas intenções mas enfrenta duas barreiras quase insuperáveis: as diferenças entre soccer e American football e as diferenças entre Inglaterra e Estados Unidos.
O humor em TED LASSO é diferenciado. As situações cômicas são muito bem desenvolvidas pelo roteiro.
Ao mesmo tempo, a trama nos dá personagens de extremo humanismo, em suas qualidades e defeitos.
Vou sentir falta de TED LASSO e turma maluca do Richmond.

Since it premiered, I’ve been saying that I think TED LASSO is a different series in the complicated panorama of comedy-drama series. Often, the production exaggerates the comic and undermines the drama contained in the plot. Other times, it accentuates the drama too much, missing out on the story’s funniest possibilities.
TED LASSO hits the nail on the head with the measure of drama x humor.
In the tumultuous divorce of an English couple, Richmond – a football club – remains in the ex-wife’s estate. The relations between them are in a bad phase, and the woman has the idea of inflicting more suffering on her ex, hiring an American football coach (the one with the oval ball) to coach Richmond.
Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis‘ magnificent creation) is full of good intentions but faces two almost insurmountable barriers: the differences between soccer and American football and the differences between England and the United States.
The humor in TED LASSO is different. The comic situations are very well developed by the script.
At the same time, the plot gives us characters of extreme humanism, in their qualities and fails.
I’m going to miss TED LASSO and the crazy Richmond people.
