A HBO MAX está mostrando o filme REALITY, dirigido pela cineasta Tina Satter.
O filme mostra o caso real da ex-funcionária da NSAReality Winner, que foi interrogada, presa e condenada nos EUA por vazar informações governamentais sigilosas à imprensa durante o Governo Trump.
A curiosidade está que tanto a peça teatral em que REALITY se baseia quanto o filme seguem literalmente as transcrições do depoimento da protagonista ao FBI, o que confere um originalidade à produção mas sacrifica o ritmo da narrativa.
Sidney Sweeney vive a protagonista Reality. Josh Hamilton e Marchant Davis são os principais agentes do Bureau.
Achei que o roteiro poderia ir além da literalidade do depoimento e avançar em questões claramente interessantes do caso como o eterno conflito entre a liberdade e a confidencialidade de documentos públicos.
Confesso que o filme não me impressionou tanto como relatam as críticas grifadas nos cartazes e na publicidade de REALITY.
É um filme original e autoral.
Mas, na minha opinião, não passa disto.

The film shows the real case of the former NSAReality employee Winner, who was interrogated, arrested and convicted in the US for leaking confidential government information to the press during the Trump administration.
The curiosity is that both the play on which REALITY is based and the film literally follow the transcripts of the protagonist’s testimony to the FBI, which gives originality to the production but sacrifices the rhythm of the narrative.
Sidney Sweeney lives the protagonist Reality. Josh Hamilton and Marchant Davis are the Bureau’s top agents.
I thought the script could go beyond the literalness of the testimony and advance on clearly interesting issues of the case, such as the eternal conflict between freedom and confidentiality of public documents.
I confess that the film did not impress me as much as reported by the critics highlighted in the posters and in REALITY’s publicity.
It is an original and authorial film.
But, in my opinion, it is no more than that.
