Achei no app MHZ, o drama alemão NA SOMBRA DO MEDO (IN SCHATTEN DER ANGST), dirigido pelo cineasta Till Endemann.
A psiquiatra forense Dra. Karla Ekhard (a ótima atriz belga Julia Kochitz) é encarregada de examinar um famoso arquiteto que é preso ao sequestrar e abusar de uma mulher. Ele é Carstem Spanger, interpretado pelo ator Justus von Dohányi.
Logo no início de seu trabalho, a médica percebe que a mulher abusada pode não ter sido a primeira vítima do arquiteto.
A partir daí se inicia um verdadeiro duelo entre os dois. As cenas entre eles, guardadas as proporções, lembram muito os diálogos entre a agente do FBI Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster) e Dr. Hanibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins) na obra prima de Jonathan Demme, O SILÊNCIO DOS INOCENTES.
A necessidade de convencer as autoridades da teoria da repetição dos crimes e a pressão temporal para tentar achar alguma vítima ainda viva, aumentam a angústia da psiquiatra.
Achei a trama original e muito bem desenvolvida. Há vários momentos em que o espectador é colocado em dúvida se a psiquiatra está certa ou se tudo se trata de projeções dos problemas dela no criminoso.
Fiquei ainda mais contente quando li que já foi feito um segundo filme com a personagem da Dra. Karla, NÃO MENTIRÁS.
Trata-se de um sucesso mais do que merecido.

Forensic psychiatrist Dr. Karla Ekhard (the great Belgian actress Julia Kochitz) is tasked with examining a famous architect who is arrested for kidnapping and abusing a woman. He is Carstem Spanger, played by actor Justus von Dohányi.
Right at the beginning of her work, the doctor realizes that the abused woman may not have been the architect’s first victim.
From then on, a true duel between the two begins. The scenes between them, keeping the proportions, are very reminiscent of the dialogues between FBI agent Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster) and Dr. Hanibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins) in Jonathan Demme‘s masterpiece, SILENCE OF THE LAMBS.
The need to convince the authorities of the theory of the repetition of crimes and the time pressure to try to find a victim still alive, increased the psychiatrist’s anguish.
I found the plot original and very well developed. There are several moments in which the viewer is left in doubt as to whether the psychiatrist is right or if everything is a matter of projecting her problems onto the criminal.
I was even happier when I read that a second film with the character of Dr. Karla, YOU WILL NOT LIE.
It is a more than deserved success.
