A série VOCÊS NÃO ME CONHECEM (YOU DON’T KNOW ME), em cartaz na NETFLIX, já sai com a vantagem de ter apenas quatro capítulos. Tenho achado que muitas histórias de séries são “esticadas” para gerar oito ou dez capítulos, repetindo cenas e estendendo diálogos desnecessariamente e em prejuízo da dinâmica da narrativa.
Nos seus quatro episódios, YOU DON’T KNOW ME traz a história do jovem vendedor de carros de luxo, interpretado pelo ator britânico Samuel Adewunmi (SECRET INVASION e ANGELA BLACK), que é preso e julgado pela morte de um traficante de drogas (Roger Jean Nsengiyumva) do bairro onde mora.
Para surpresa geral, o personagem demite sua advogada próximo do final do julgamento e pede à Corte para fazer suas próprias alegações finais ao júri.
Com a palavra, o jovem expõe uma nova versão do assassinato que seria o fecho de sua história de amor com a jovem Kyra (Sophia Wilde, ótima).
O filme investe forte sobre a atual discussão sobre o que é verdade. A Promotoria da Coroa apresentou um sólido conjunto de provas contra o acusado. Em sua história, ele explica uma a uma delas, dando-lhes um sentido completamente diferente. Qual seria a verdade?
É inegável a originalidade do roteiro da série. A narrativa proposta pelo réu é hipnótica para os espectadores, como para os membros do júri, provocando a ira da Promotora, que seguidamente busca interrompe-lo e quebrar a unicidade de sua fala.
Os dramas de tribunal são, em geral, filmes fascinantes. Ver a dinâmica de funcionamento dos vários sistemas legais é particularmente apaixonante.
YOU DON’T KNOW ME consegue agregar muito ao gênero.
Trata-se de uma série muito bem feita, original e altamente criativa, Tanto que se permite alguns twists finais nas várias versões dos fatos apresentados ao espectador.

I think that many series stories are “stretched” to generate eight or ten chapters, repeating scenes and extending dialogues unnecessarily and to the detriment of the dynamics of the narrative.
In its four episodes, YOU DON’T KNOW ME tells the story of a young luxury car salesman, played by British actor Samuel Adewunmi (SECRET INVASION and ANGELA BLACK), who is arrested and tried for the death of a neighborhood drug dealer (Roger Jean Nsengiyumva).
To everyone’s surprise, the character fires his attorney near the end of the trial and asks the Court to make its own final statement to the jury.
With the word, the young man exposes a new version of the murder that would be the closure of his love story with young Kyra (Sophia Wilde, great).
The film invests heavily in the current discussion about what is truth. The Crown Prosecution presented a solid body of evidence against the accused. In his story he explains them one by one, giving them a completely different meaning. What would be the truth?
The originality of the script of the series is undeniable. The narrative proposed by the defendant is hypnotic for the spectators, as for the members of the jury, provoking the wrath of the Prosecutor, who often tries to interrupt him and break the uniqueness of his speech.
Courtroom dramas are generally fascinating films. Seeing the working dynamics of the various legal systems is particularly fascinating.
YOU DON’T KNOW ME manages to add a lot to the genre.
It is a very well done, original and highly creative series, so much so that some final twists are allowed in the various versions of the facts presented to the viewer.
