A bela Professora Mara (Valentina Lodovini, ótima) vem da Toscana para uma pequena cidade do interior da Polesine di Rovigo. Ela terá pouco tempo na cidade, porque aguarda uma vaga no Brasil.
Mara chama a atenção de dois personagens locais. O mecânico tunisino Hassan (Ahmed Hafiane), com quem inicia um romance e o jovem Giovanni (Giovanni Capovilla), um aspirante a jornalista que envia para um jornal regional matérias sobre o que ocorre no lugarejo onde moram.
O filme mostra a rotina da cidade e dos imigrantes de forma terna e delicada. São muitas as cenas emocionalmente tocantes.
O twist próximo do final do filme não lhe descaracteriza. Ao contrário, acentua o caráter dramático dos personagens e suas tragédias pessoais.
THE RIGHT DISTANCE é um belo drama. A gente vê com interesse crescente.

Mara catches the eye of two local characters. The Tunisian mechanic Hassan (Ahmed Hafiane), with whom she starts a romance, and the young Giovanni (Giovanni Capovilla), an aspiring journalist who sends articles about what happens in the village where they live to a regional newspaper.
The film shows the routine of the city and the immigrants in a tender and delicate way. There are many emotionally touching scenes.
The twist near the end of the film does not detract from its character. On the contrary, it accentuates the dramaticity of the characters and their personal tragedies.
THE RIGHT DISTANCE is a beautiful drama. We see it with growing interest.
