TOBRUK: Um Clássico Filme Sobre a Segunda Guerra em Solo Africano

O Amazon Prime Video exibe entre os filmes de guerra, TOBRUK, que o cineasta canadense Arthur Hiller dirigiu em 1967.

Curiosamente, o filme mais famoso de Hiller foi LOVE STORY, de 1970, com Ryan O’Neal e Ali McGraw.

Em TOBRUK, a trama foca a Guerra na África, onde o exército nazista do general Rommel is impondo sérias derrotas aos aliados. Os tanques de guerra alemães reinavam no norte da África graças à excelência de seu comandante e ao petróleo que ficava armazenado em tanques subterrâneos em Tobruk.

Os aliados então planejam uma operação em que um grupo de soldados ingleses e outro de israelense, disfarçados de nazista iriam até Tobruk para destruir os tanques de combustíveis.

O elenco tinha Rock Hudson, George Peppard, Nigel Green, Guy Stockwell e Jack Watson.

TOBRUK é um filme de guerra clássico. Há o planejamento da operação – minuciosamente explicado – e o desenvolvimento do plano sofre todo tipo de obstáculos, como um traidor infiltrado (quase todos os filmes têm), acidentes de percurso e a coragem final dos mocinhos.

Há muitas explosões e cenas de incêndio no final do filme, que hoje parecem bem primárias.

Mas para quem curte filmes de guerra, TOBRUK segue sendo exemplar.

In TOBRUK, the plot focuses on the War in Africa, where General Rommel’s Nazi army is inflicting serious defeats on the allies. German battle tanks reigned in North Africa thanks to the excellence of their commander and the oil that was stored in underground tanks in Tobruk.

The allies then plan an operation in which a group of British soldiers and another of Israeli soldiers, disguised as Nazis, would go to Tobruk to destroy the fuel tanks.

The cast included Rock Hudson, George Peppard, Nigel Green, Guy Stockwell and Jack Watson.

TOBRUK is a classic war film. There is the planning of the operation – thoroughly explained – and the development of the plan suffers all kinds of obstacles, such as an infiltrated traitor (almost all war films have them), accidents along the way and the final courage of the good guys.

There are a lot of explosions and fire scenes at the end of the film, which today seem very primary.

But for those who enjoy war films, TOBRUK remains exemplary.
