Comecei a ler o novo livro de John Grisham, THE EXCHANGE.
Quinze anos depois, o advogado Mitch McDeere e sua esposa Abby estão felizes em um big apartamento em Manhattan, com seus dois filhos. Mitch trabalha para uma firma gigante de advocacia de Wall Street. O sócio responsável pela área de trabalho pró bono faz Mitch pegar um caso de condenação à morte de um jovem em Memphis.
As velhas memórias de Mitch e Abby sobre as falcatruas da Firma Bendini (onde Mitch teve seu primeiro emprego) voltam inevitavelmente à tona.
Estou somente nos primeiros capítulos do livro, mas já deu para sentir que Grisham vem com tudo.
O filme A FIRMA foi dirigido em 1993, por Sidney Pollack, com Tom Cruise vivendo Mitch e Jeanne Tripplehorn fazendo Abby. Ainda tinha Gene Hackman, Hal Holbrook, Ed Harris, Gary Busey e Holly Hunter.
Depois houve uma série de TV que era bem fraquinha e não durou muito.
Será que veremos Mitch McDeere outra vez nas telas? É bem possível que sim.

Fifteen years later, lawyer Mitch McDeere and his wife Abby are happy in a big Manhattan apartment with their two children. Mitch works for a giant Wall Street law firm. The pro bono partner has Mitch take on a young man’s death sentence case in Memphis.
Mitch and Abby’s old memories of the shenanigans at the Bendini Firm (where Mitch had his first job) inevitably come flooding back.
I’m only in the first chapters of the book, but I can already feel that Grisham comes with everything.
The film THE FIRM was directed in 1993 by Sidney Pollack, with Tom Cruise playing Mitch and Jeanne Tripplehorn playing Abby. There was still Gene Hackman, Hal Holbrook, Ed Harris, Gary Busey and Holly Hunter.
Then there was a TV series that was very weak and didn’t last long.
Will we see Mitch McDeere on screen again? It’s quite possible so.
