Enfoca o incrível caso do processo movido ela esposa do jogador James Hardy, Rebekah Vardy contra Coleen Rooney, a esposa do multi campeão Wayne Rooney em face do vazamento de posts pessoais do Instagram para o tabloide THE SUN.

O que era um briga entre duas ex-amigas na rede social virou um processo de milhões, comandado por advogados estelares (e caríssimos) que mobilizou a opinião pública britânica em 2022.

O caso ficou conhecido como WAGHATA, uma piada bem inglesa que atribui a Coleen um papel de detetive para descobrir quem vazou suas mensagens, uma espécie de Agatha Christie das redes sociais.

Michael Sheen, Natalia Tena, Chanel Cresswell, Simon Coury e Dion Lloyd pontificam no cast.

O filme propõe uma interessante reflexão sobre vários temas: o uso do Judiciário para processos fúteis, os limites da privacidade nas redes sociais, o papel dos tabloides, a Wags (esposas de jogadores) e por aí vai.

Nada muito profundo, mas interessante de se ver.

E com a essencial qualidade de ser curto. Dois capítulos e a história termina.

It focuses on the incredible case of the lawsuit filed by the wife of player James Hardy, Rebekah Vardy against Coleen Rooney, the wife of multi-champion Wayne Rooney, due to the leak of personal Instagram posts to the tabloid THE SUN.

What was a fight between two former friends on the social network turned into a lawsuit worth millions, led by stellar (and very expensive) lawyers that mobilized British public opinion in 2022.

The case became known as WAGHATA, a very English joke that assigns Coleen the role of detective to find out who leaked her messages, a kind of Agatha Christie of social media.

Michael Sheen, Natalia Tena, Chanel Cresswell, Simon Coury and Dion Lloyd pontificate in the cast.

The film proposes an interesting reflection on several topics: the use of the Judiciary for futile processes, the limits of privacy on social networks, the role of tabloids, Wags (players’ wives) and so on.

Nothing too deep, but interesting to see.

And with the essential quality of being short. Two chapters and the story ends.
