O Amazon Prime Video tem o filme OS FUGITIVOS (LONELY HEARTS), que Todd Robinson dirigiu em 2006.
Trata-de de um drama policial sobre a caçada policial real aos assassinos em série Raymond Martinez Fernandez e Martha Beck, que ficaram conhecidos como “Lonely Heart Killers” por darem preferência a viúvas de soldados mortos na Guerra.
John Travolta – que vive o Detetive Elmer Robinson – tem em seu currículo 94 filmes. Algumas obras primas, como PULP FICTION e outros desastres inomináveis, como THE POISON ROSE. Aqui ele acertou na escolha. Trata-se de um bom drama policial.
Robinson é um policial atormentado pelo suicídio da esposa, o que esfriou a relação dele com o filho adolescente (o ótimo Dan Byrd). Mas o luto o faz se atirar no trabalho e é ele que vai atrás dos crimes aparentemente não relacionados da dupla Ray e Martha.
Os assassinos são vividos por Jared Letto e Selma Hayek, sempre dois atores interessantes de se ver. O cast – ótimo por sinal – ainda tem James Gandolfini (que grande ator foi), Laura Dern, Scott Caan e Michael Gaston.
O filme não economiza na crueza de detalhes dos crimes da dupla.
Mas o foco principal do diretor está nos efeitos da solidão e os descaminhos a que pode levar uma pessoa.
Sem ser nenhuma maravilha, LONELY HEARTS consegue com ótimo resultado, segurar a atenção do espectador em seus 108 minutos.
É, sem dúvida, um belo drama policial.

John Travolta – who plays Detective Elmer Robinson – has 94 films to his credit. Some masterpieces, like PULP FICTION and other unspeakable disasters, like THE POISON ROSE. Here he made the right choice. This is a good police drama.
Robinson is a police officer tormented by his wife’s suicide, which chilled his relationship with his teenage son (the great Dan Byrd). But grief makes him throw himself into his work and he is the one who goes after the apparently unrelated crimes of the duo Ray and Martha.
The killers are played by Jared Letto and Selma Hayek, always two interesting actors to watch. The cast – great by the way – also has James Gandolfini (what a great actor he was), Laura Dern, Scott Caan and Michael Gaston.
The film does not skimp on the raw details of the duo’s crimes.
But the director’s main focus is on the effects of loneliness and the paths it can lead a person to.
Without being any wonder, LONELY HEARTS manages, with excellent results, to hold the viewer’s attention throughout its 108 minutes.
It is, without a doubt, a beautiful police drama.
