Finalmente assisti na HBO Max, THE BLUE BEETLE, filme de super-herói da DC Comics, dirigido por Angel Manuel Soto.
Achei bem divertido. O filme conseguiu escapar um pouco daquela barulheira sem fim que há nos filmes da DC. Primeiro mérito.
Os heróis são todos latinos, o que, na minha visão foi um segundo mérito do filme. Latinos também produzem super heróis. Mesmo que seja por acidente.
Um jovem latino acidentalmente recebe um artefato alienígena chamado O Besouro Azul, uma espécie de ser que se funde com o hospedeiro escolhido para criar um super herói.
A trama é meio ingênua, mas a produção caprichada faz a gente ver com interesse até o final.
Achei o protagonista Xolo Maridueña bem chazinho. Gostei da Bruna Marquezine como a heroína Jenny Cord. Susan Sarandon, de vilã, cumpre carnê e pagou alguns boletos.
Há diversas abordagens positivas, o que em um filme infante juvenil é muito meritório. O anti-belicismo, os valores familiares, o conceito de time, tudo passa coisas boas aos espectadores.
O mais importante, vindo de um filme com super herói, é a diversão. Acho que BLUE BEETLE em momento algum se levou a sério demais.
Este foi seu maior mérito. Diversão pura e sem compromisso.
I finally watched THE BLUE BEETLE, a DC Comics superhero film, directed by Angel Manuel Soto on HBO Max.
I found it quite fun. The film managed to escape a little of that endless noise that is present in DC films. First merit.
The heroes are all Latinos, which, in my opinion, was a second merit of the film. Latinos also produce superheroes. Even if it’s by accident.

The most important thing, coming from a superhero film, is fun. I don’t think BLUE BEETLE ever took itself too seriously.
