Nicholas Sparks é um escritor norte americano que ficou famosos por histórias muito românticas que chegam ao cinema sob a forma de melodramas açucarados e visualmente belíssimos.
De todos os livros dele adaptados para o cinema, na minha opinião, THE NOTEBOOK é de longe o melhor. O filme de Nick Cassavetes (2004), com Gena Rowlands, James Garner, Rachel McAdams e Ryan Gosling é um modelo de drama romântico muito bem feito. segue a receita dos filmes a partir dos livros de Sparks, mas acho que ficou criativo, bonito e emocionante.
A ESCOLHA, em cartaz no Amazon Prime Vídeo é outro filhotes de Sparks.
Um jovem veterinário do interior da Carolina do Sul, encontra e se apaixona por uma menina rica que foi passar férias na cidade. Ocorre que ela é médica e namora um jovem médico do hospital local.
Como diz a receita, os cenários são de tirar o fôlego. A fotografia não cansa de nos surpreender com uma cena mais linda que a outra.
Achei que o filme exagera em acumular na mesma história todos os clichês românticos conhecidos. Tem o amor entre pessoas de status diferentes, animais queridos, viúvos enlutados permanentemente, acidentes quase fatais, escolhas dificílimas, ex-namoradas compreensivas, e muitos outros.
Ficou meloso demais.
Mas ainda assim é um filme muito agradável de se ver.
Teresa Palmer (uma linda americana típica), Benjamin Walker, Alexandra Daddario, Maggie Grace, o ótimo ator inglês Tom Wilkinson e Tom welling fazem um ótimo elenco.
O amor de Travis e Gabby é convincente. Não precisava de tantos clichês.

Of all his books adapted for film, in my opinion, THE NOTEBOOK is by far the best. Nick Cassavetes‘ film (2004), with Gena Rowlands, James Garner, Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling, is a model of a very well-made romantic drama. It follows the movie recipe from Sparks’ books, but I think it turned out creative, beautiful and exciting.
THE CHOICE, showing on Amazon Prime Video, is another Sparks sons.
A young veterinarian from the interior of South Carolina meets and falls in love with a rich girl who went to the city for vacation. It turns out that she is a doctor and is dating a young doctor at the local hospital.
As the recipe says, the scenery is breathtaking. Photography never tires of surprising us with one scene more beautiful than the next.
I thought the film exaggerated in accumulating all the known romantic clichés in the same story. There is love between people of different statuses, beloved animals, permanently bereaved widowers, near-fatal accidents, very difficult choices, understanding ex-girlfriends, and many others.
It was too sweet.
But it’s still a very enjoyable film to watch.
Teresa Palmer (a beautiful typical American), Benjamin Walker, Alexandra Daddario, Maggie Grace, the great English actor Tom Wilkinson and Tom Welling make a great cast.
Travis and Gabby’s love is compelling. It didn’t need so many clichés.
