Entrou em cartaz a segunda temporada da série REACHER, baseada nos livros de Jack Child, sobre as aventuras de um ex-mariner que perambula pelos Estados Unidos distribuindo justiça pelas próprias mãos.
Há dois filmes de longa metragem onde Jack Reacher é vivido por Tom Cruise: JACK REACHER (2012) e NEVER COME BACK (2016). Como li alguns dos livros de Child, Tom Cruise me incomodou um pouco no papel, porque a primeira coisa que as pessoas notam quando Reacher chega é seu tamanho. Não é o caso de Mr. Cruise. Eram bons filmes, mas faltou alguma coisa.
Alan Ritchson – escolhido para viver Reacher na série – certamente tem o tipo físico adequado. O sujeito é gigantesco. Assusta em cada cena. Mas ainda me parece faltar capacidade dramática. A primeira temporada tinha uma boa história mas ficou longe de ser marcante.
Essa segunda parece que iniciou melhor. O primeiro capítulo tem bom humor. Robert Patrick – que vive o vilão – em certa cena é consultado sobre quem seria Sarah Connor (pseudônimo que Reacher dá a sua colega de investigação. “Não dou a mínima”, diz Patrick que, como um Exterminador do futuro passou o filme de James Cameron inteiro caçando Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton). Ótima piada.
A trama gira em torno do fato de ex-companheiros de Guerra do Iraque de Reacher estarem sendo mortos pelo que parece ser uma organização para militar.
Definitivamente eles não sabem com quem estavam se metendo. Reacher vem com tudo.
Essa segunda temporada promete.
The second season of the series REACHER, based on the books by Jack Child, about the adventures of an ex-marine who roams the United States dispensing justice by his own hands, has been released.
There are two feature films where Jack Reacher is played by Tom Cruise: JACK REACHER (2012) and NEVER COME BACK (2016). Having read some of Child’s books, Tom Cruise bothered me a little in the role, because the first thing people notice when Reacher arrives is his size. This is not the case with Mr. Cruise. They were good films, but something was missing.
Alan Ritchson – chosen to play Reacher in the series – certainly has the right physical type. The guy is gigantic. He scares in every scene. But it still seems to lack dramatic capacity. The first season had a good story but it was far from remarkable.
This second one seems to have started better. The first chapter has good humor. Robert Patrick – who plays the villain – in a certain scene is consulted about who Sarah Connor would be (pseudonym that Reacher gives to his fellow investigator). “I don’t give a shit”, says Patrick who, like a Terminator from the future, hunted Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) the entire second James Cameron’s movie. Great joke.
The plot revolves around the fact that Reacher’s former Iraq War comrades are being killed by what appears to be a military organization.
They definitely didn’t know who they were messing with. Reacher comes with everything.
This second season is promising.
