Chegou ao final a primeira temporada da série do FX (STAR+), ASSASSINATO NO FIM DO MUNDO.
Foi uma trama bem interessante. Dois detetives amadores, Bill e Darby são incluídos na estranha lista de convidados de um guru da economia disruptiva para um retiro isolado em um hotel nas montanhas geladas da Islândia.
A ideia parece ser apresentar as últimas maravilhas tecnológicas àquele público especial escolado em inovações, disfunção e preocupações futuristas e ambientais.
Logo de cara, eles são apresentados a um guru virtual movido pela inteligência artificial que atende os convidados em tudo o que é possível (da temperatura da água no banho a qualquer música ou trecho de livros clássicos).
O que soava como paraíso, vira pesadelos quando os convidados começam a aparecer mortos, feito moscas.
A jovem Darby então resolve, por decisão própria, ir atrás do assassino.
A trama tipo “quem matou?” tem algumas leituras bem interessantes na série.
Claro que o ótimo elenco ajuda muito. Emma Corrin (inglesinha muito em alta), Clive Owen, Alice Braga, Joan Chen, Raul Esparza e a produtora Burt marling dão vida aos misteriosos gurus do amanhã.
Como gosto muito de intrigas policiais (e de inovações), curti muito a história. É uma trama policial muito interessante com toques de filme distópico.
Acho que funcionou bastante.
The first season of the FX (STAR+) series, MURDER AT THE END OF THE WORLD, has come to an end.
It was a very interesting plot. Two amateur detectives, Bill and Darby, are included on a disruptive economics guru’s strange guest list for a secluded hotel retreat in the icy mountains of Iceland.
The idea seems to be to present the latest technological marvels to that special audience schooled in innovation, dysfunction and futuristic and environmental concerns.
Right away, they are introduced to a virtual guru powered by artificial intelligence who assists guests in everything possible (from the temperature of the water in the bath to any song or excerpt from classic books).
What sounded like paradise turns into nightmares when the guests start to appear dead, like flies.
Young Darby then decides, by her own decision, to go after the killer.
The “whodunnit?” plot. There are some very interesting reads in the series.
Of course, the great cast helps a lot. Emma Corrin (very ascending English actress), Clive Owen, Alice Braga, Joan Chen, Raul Esparza and producer Burt Marling bring to life the mysterious gurus of tomorrow.
As I really like police intrigues (and innovations), I enjoyed a lot the story. It’s a very interesting detective plot with touches of a dystopian film.
I think it worked a lot.
