Um empregado de um banco – insatisfeito com a monotonia – elabora um plano para mudar de vida. Faz um assalto em que se apropria de uma elevada soma em dinheiro, entrega para um colega guardar o valor e se entrega às autoridade confessando o crime.
A ideia era estar rico quando saísse da prisão alguns anos depois.
O filme acompanha a trama quase de forma documental e naturalista. Nada é sofisticado. Os personagens são todos pessoas absolutamente comuns, vivendo em lugares normais e tendo vidas monótonas e chatas,
O plano de Morán (Daniel Elias) curiosamente muda muito mais a vida medíocre de seu colega Román (Esteban Bigliardi) não somente pela pressão que sofre dos investigadores do assalto, como pela nova dimensão que seus dias ganham quando ele conhece a namorada libertária de Morán, a bela e desinibida Norma (Margarita Molfino).
Meio que na esteira dos filmes atuais, OS DELINQUENTES exagera na duração do filme. São três horas e nove minutos. Podia ser razoavelmente menor, sem prejudicar a história.
As cenas urbanas são alternadas com cenas no interior, salientando as diferenças grandes entre as vidas em cada situação.
O filme consegue prender o espectador que fica ansioso por saber como vão terminar as histórias de Morán e Román, não por acaso duas pessoas de nome quase idêntico que passaram a maior parte da vida entediados por um trabalho medíocre e burocrático.
Vale muito a pena ver. Os elogios recebidos são totalmente merecidos.

A bank employee – dissatisfied with the monotony – comes up with a plan to change his life. He carries out a robbery in which he appropriates a large sum of money, gives it to a colleague to keep the amount and turns himself in to authorities confessing to the crime.
The idea was to be rich when he got out of prison a few years later.
The film follows the plot in an almost documentary and naturalistic way. Nothing is sophisticated. The characters are all absolutely ordinary people, living in normal places and having monotonous and boring lives,
Morán’s (Daniel Elias) plan curiously changes the mediocre life of his colleague Román (Esteban Bigliardi) much more, not only because of the pressure he suffers from the robbery investigators, but also because of the new dimension that his days take on when he meets Morán’s libertarian girlfriend, the beautiful and uninhibited Norma (Margarita Molfino).
Sort of in the trend of current films, THE DELINQUENTS exaggerates the length of the film. It’s three hours and nine minutes long. It could be reasonably smaller, without harming the story.
Urban scenes alternate with country scenes, highlighting the great differences between lives in each situation.
The film manages to capture the viewer who is eager to know how the stories of Morán and Román will end, not by chance two people with almost identical names who spent most of their lives bored by a mediocre and bureaucratic job.
It is very worth seeing. The praise received by the movie is fully deserved.
