A Apple TV colocou para alugar o filme CONFESSION, dirigido por Dayna Hanson, uma cineasta, coreógrafa e produtora americana.
A trama mostra uma advogada pública que resolve ir fundo em uma acusação de estupro múltiplo feita por uma mulher, a qual não teve seguimento por falta de provas, segundo a investigação policial.
Convencida que a vítima estava dizendo a verdade, a procuradora toma para si a missão de encontrar pistas e se depara com outras histórias parecidas de mulheres vítimas dos mesmos criminosos.
Era um ponto de partida muito interessante. Pára por aí.
O roteiro é superficial, assumindo afirmações do tipo os ricos são más pessoas e os pobres são cheios de boas intenções ou a polícia sempre vitimiza as mulheres não importando o caso.
O cast é bem ruim. Michael Ironside (velho e gordo) tenta fazer um policial íntegro mas preguiçoso. Fica somente ruim. A protagonista Clark Backo (que participou de THE HANDMAID’S TALE) prometia bastante mas também não sai do chão.
E a solução final da história, então, é de chorar de ruim.
Perdi os quatro dólares do aluguel do filme. Paciência.
Apple TV has put up for rent the film CONFESSION, directed by Dayna Hanson, an American filmmaker, choreographer and producer.
The plot shows a female public lawyer who decides to get to the bottom of an accusation of multiple rape made by a woman, which was not followed up due to lack of evidence, according to the police investigation.
Convinced that the victim was telling the truth, the prosecutor takes it upon herself to find clues and comes across other similar stories of women victims of the same criminals.
It was a very interesting starting point. Stop there.
The script is superficial, assuming statements such as all the rich are bad people and all the poor are full of good intentions or the police always victimise women regardless of the case.
The cast is pretty bad. Michael Ironside (old and fat) tries to play an upstanding but lazy police officer. It just gets bad. The protagonist Clark Backo (who participated in THE HANDMAID’S TALE) promised a lot but also doesn’t leave the ground.
And the final solution of the story, then, is to cry badly.
I lost the four dollars on the movie rental. Patience.
