Está disponível no MUBI o drama co-produzido por Bélgica, Holanda e França CLOSE, dirigido pelo cineasta belga Lukas Dhont, multi premiado no circuito internacional de festivais.
É outro dos grandes filmes de 2023. A amizade profunda de dois meninos de trezes anos que vivem na região das tulipas (Field of Flowers) na Holanda sofre uma ruptura quando um deles não consegue enfrentar o bullying que sofrem por estarem sempre juntos.
As terríveis consequências do ocorrido vão mudar as vidas de Leo (Eden Dambrine) e Remi (Gustav de Raele). assim como dos pais da dupla.
O trabalho do menino Eden é notável. A expressividade de seu rosto, nas diversas cenas, que vão da extrema alegria à profunda depressão são maravilhosas.No mesmo nível está a interpretação da atriz Émilie Dequenne, que vive a mãe de Remi, a qual o roteiro dá uma dimensão humana excepcional, o que proporciona a oportunidade de brilhar em cena.
CLOSE é daqueles filmes que conduz o espectador por muitas emoções. Assim como os protagonistas, temos momentos de alegria e deslumbramento (o cenário é belíssimo) para depois vivenciar a tristeza que o jovem Leo experimenta.
O diretor Dhont chega a seu sétimo trabalho em um momento excepcional. A sensibilidade do enfoque que sua câmera dá aos fatos é nada menos que antológica.
CLOSE não usa de meias palavras para mostrar a crueldade do bullying, suas terríveis consequências, o sofrimento de todos os envolvidos e as marcas que pode deixar na vida das pessoas.
Mas tudo é mostrado com muita empatia (sem perder a contundência).
Isso é um feito para poucos.

It’s another of the great films of 2023. The deep friendship of two thirteen-year-old boys who live in the tulip region (Field of Flowers) in the Netherlands, suffers a rupture when one of them is unable to face the bullying they suffer for always being together.
The terrible consequences of what happened will change the lives of Leo (Eden Dambrine) and Remi (Gustav de Raele). as well as the duo’s parents.
Boy Eden’s work is remarkable. The expressiveness of her face, in the different scenes, which range from extreme joy to deep depression, is wonderful. On the same level is the interpretation of actress Émilie Dequenne, who plays Remi’s mother, to whom the script gives an exceptional human dimension, the which provides the opportunity to shine on stage.
CLOSE is one of those films that takes the viewer through many emotions. Just like the protagonists, we have moments of joy and wonder (the setting is beautiful) and then experience the sadness that young Leo suffers.
Director Dhont reaches his seventh work at an exceptional moment. The sensitivity of the approach that his camera gives to the facts is nothing short of anthological.
CLOSE doesn’t mince words to show the cruelty of bullying, its terrible consequences, the suffering of everyone involved and the marks it can leave on people’s lives.
But everything is shown with great empathy (without losing its poignancy).
This is a feat for few.
CLOSE is a great film.
