SALTBURN é uma requintada produção dirigida pela cineasta britânica Emerald Fennell, ganhadora do Oscar pelo roteiro ótimo do surpreendente PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN.
Aqui ela resolveu desafiar todas as convenções. Fez uma trama muito louca sobre Oliver Quick (Barry Keoghan) um jovem sem escrúpulos que se apaixona pelo colega de faculdade em Oxford, Felix Caton (Jacob Elordi).
É convidado pelo amigo para passar umas férias no castelo da família rica, um grupo de desajustados sem quaisquer limites.
O elenco é interessante: Rosamund Pike (sempre interessante), Carrey Mulligan (uma ponta), Richard E, Grant e a bela Alison Oliver.
O roteiro realmente não teve qualquer limite. Tem uma sucessão de cenas que têm o propósito de chocar o espectador, supostamente para evidenciar a vida sem regras dos ricos ingleses, mas que chegam ao escatológico.
Não me agradou. Acho que mesmo quando se tem o propósito de escandalizar, é melhor saber por onde se anda.
Aqui, acho que ficou o escândalo pelo escândalo.

Here she decided to defy all conventions. It made a very crazy plot about Oliver Quick (Barry Keoghan), an unscrupulous young man who falls in love with his Oxford college friend, Felix Caton (Jacob Elordi).

The script really didn’t have any limits. There is a succession of scenes that are intended to shock the viewer, supposedly to highlight the rule-free lives of the rich English, but which reach the scatological.
I didn’t like it. I think that even when you have the intention of causing scandal, it is better to know where you are going.
Here, I think there was a scandal for the sake of scandal.
