É uma das melhores tramas da literatura do escritor Harlan Coben.
A quantidade de voltas do roteiro, indicando o sentido errado com relação a quem matou a jovem irmã e o marido da protagonista é impressionante.
O chamado “twist” ou reviravolta é muito comum em filmes policiais ou de suspense. Levar o espectador a crer numa coisa e depois, surpreendentemente, revelar outra é uma receita de sucesso bem comum no gênero.
Mas Coben se especializou em tornar este expediente um pouco mais complexo. Primeiro arma uma quantidade de personagens (quase todos com sua própria agenda cheia de segredos) e depois coloca todos eles próximos da vítima e com algum interesse na sua morte.
Pronto. A gente cai sempre.
Por que o enredo de FOOL ME ONCE é especial?
Porque traz temas muito atuais como deep fake videos, militarismo, segredos oficiais, hackers, drogas milagrosas da indústria farmacêutica, traições, alcoolismo, uma salada de assuntos palpitantes.
A isso se soma um elenco ‘tomo, onde pontifica a atriz Michelle Keegan, como a protagonista Maya Stern. Não é nada fácil ser ao mesmo tempo heroína e anti-heroína. Ela se saiu muito bem.
FOOL ME ONCE é mais um belo trabalho originado na ficção de excelência de Harlan Coben.

But Coben specialized in making this a little more complex. He first sets up a number of characters (almost all with their own agenda full of secrets) and then places them all close to the victim and with some interest in his death.

Why is the plot of FOOL ME ONCE special?
Because it brings very current topics such as deep fake videos, militarism, official secrets, hackers, miracle drugs from the pharmaceutical industry, betrayal, alcoholism, a salad of exciting topics.
Added to this is a tome cast, featuring actress Michelle Keegan, as the protagonist Maya Stern. It’s not easy to be both a heroine and an anti-heroine at the same time. She did it very well.
FOOL ME ONCE is another beautiful work originating from Harlan Coben’s excellent fiction.
