Vi o primeiro dos seis capítulos de O REGIME, série da HBO produzida e dirigida pelo ótimo cineasta Stephen Frears.
Frears, para quem não lembra, é um cineasta inglês responsável por excelentes filmes como LIGAÇÕES PERIGOSAS, O SEGREDO DE MARY REILY e A RAINHA.
Kate Winslet – cada vez melhor – estrela como a Chanceler Elena Venham, a líder do governo de um país fictício da Europa Central.
Como é normal em primeiros espisódios, a necessidade de apresentar personagens e a própria trama tira um pouco do brilho do início da série.
Foi a minha sensação.
Embora já sejam notáveis a qualidade da produção e o esmero de Frears em colocar em discussão questões políticas tão em voga nos dias atuais, O REGIME ainda não embalou.
Provável que cresça bastante a partir do segundo episódio.

Frears, for those who don’t remember, is an English filmmaker responsible for excellent films such as DANGEROUS LIASONS, MARY REILY and THE QUEEN.
Kate Winslet – getting better and better – stars as Chancellor Elena Venham, the leader of the government of a fictional Central European country.
As is normal in the first episodes, the need to introduce characters and the plot itself takes away some of the shine from the beginning of the series.
It was my feeling.
Although the quality of the production and Frears’ care in discussing political issues so in vogue today are already notable, THE REGIME has not yet caught on.
It’s likely to grow a lot from the second episode onwards.
