O BRITBOX e a Amazon Prime Video estão mostrando a série inglesa CATCH ME A KILLER, com 11 capítulos sobre o trabalho real da jornalista e psicóloga Micky Pistorius que se tornou a primeira Profiler caçando serial killers na África do Sul, nos anos 90.
Pistorius é vivida, com invulgar talento e garra pela atriz inglesa Charlotte Hope, vista em filmes como A FREIRA, LES MISERABLES e GAME OF THRONES. Lutando contra todo descrédito de seus pares e superiores, o trabalho científico de Micky marcou época por olhar os casos da perspectiva da mente do criminoso.
Na década de 90, a África do Sul tinha uma alta criminalidade, especialmente contra mulheres e crianças. O trabalho da Profiler foi justamente focar nas investigações e prisões dos culpados.
Cada dois episódios encerram um caso real em que Pistorius trabalhou.
A produção é ótima e as tramas são bem roteirizadas e dirigidas para assegurar o suspense para o espectador, embora a gente saiba (ou imagine) que a Polícia irá prender o responsável pelos crimes.
Já vi quatro episódios e voltarei aos casos de Micky Pistorius com certeza.
BRITBOX and Amazon Prime Video are showing the English series CATCH ME A KILLER, with 11 chapters about the real work of journalist and psychologist Micky Pistorius who became the first Profiler hunting serial killers in South Africa in the 90s.
Pistorius is played, with unusual talent and determination, by the English actress Charlotte Hope, seen in films such as THE NUN, LES MISERABLES and GAME OF THRONES. Fighting against all discredit from his peers and superiors, Micky’s scientific work marked an epoch by looking at cases from the perspective of the criminal’s mind.
In the 1990s, South Africa had high crime, especially against women and children. Profiler’s work was precisely to focus on investigations and arrests of the culprits.
Every two episodes wrap up a real case that Pistorius worked on.
The production is great and the plots are well scripted and directed to ensure suspense for the viewer, although we know (or imagine) that the Police will arrest the person responsible for the crimes.
I’ve already seen four episodes and I’ll definitely be returning to the Micky Pistorius cases.
