ÚLTIMO ATO: Série da Apple TV Mostra a Caçada ao Assassino do Presidente Lincoln

Está em cartaz na Apple TV+ a série MANHUNT (que algum brilhante teve a ideia de dar o título brasileiro de ÚLTIMO ATO).

A trama mostra a caçada ao assassino do presidente Abraham Lincoln (Hamish Linklater), o ator John Wilkes Booth (Anthony Boyle), comandada pelo Secretário de Estado Edwin Stanton (Tobias Menzies).

Dos oito capítulos, três já estão disponíveis.

É evidente que o assassinato de Lincoln é um dos maiores fatos da história americana, motivo pelo qual já foi objeto de inúmeros filmes.

Aqui o foco é centrado nos dias subsequentes ao crime, quando a instabilidade política ameaça a jovem democracia que recém se firmava com a vitória da União na Guerra Civil contra a Federação.

Em meio a tudo, o racismo volta forte porque o avalista da libertação dos escravos estava morto.

Tenho gostado muito dos enfoques que a série aborda temas espinhosos e difíceis. Tudo se passa na época dos fatos, mas personagens, diálogos e situações remetem muito claramente aos dias de hoje.

Desnecessário dizer que a Apple TV+ mais uma vez se esmerou para trazer uma recriação de época impecável.

Com absoluta certeza vou seguir essa caçado ao autor de um dos crimes mais famosos e impactantes de todos os tempos.

The plot shows the hunt for the assassin of President Abraham Lincoln (Hamish Linklater), actor John Wilkes Booth (Anthony Boyle), led by Secretary of State Edwin Stanton (Tobias Menzies).

It is clear that Lincoln’s assassination is one of the greatest events in American history, which is why it has been the subject of countless films.

Here the focus is on the days following the crime, when political instability threatens the young democracy that had just been established with the Union’s victory in the Civil War against the Federation.

In the midst of everything, racism returns strong because the guarantor of the slaves’ liberation was dead.

I have really enjoyed the series’ approach to thorny and difficult topics. Everything takes place at the time of the events, but characters, dialogues and situations very clearly refer to today.

Needless to say, Apple TV+ has once again gone to great lengths to bring an impeccable recreation of the era.

I will definitely continue this hunt for the author of one of the most famous and impactful crimes of all time.
