Entre as muitas séries que o NOW exibe há uma canadense chamada THE CORONER, estrelada pela ótima atriz Serinda Swan, que na recente segunda temporada de REACHER apareceu com destaque como a militar Karla Dixon.
Serinda tem sólida carreira como atriz no Canadá, se alçando para também trabalhar como produtora e até diretora. Ela já foi vista em BALLERS, TRON: LEGACY e INHUMANS.
THE CORONER fez tanto sucesso que chegou a quatro temporadas.
A Dra. Jenny Cooper não se conforma em fazer autópsias dentro do padrão. Seguidamente ela diz que cada corpo tem uma história e ela faz questão de ir atrás delas.
Jenny se relaciona com dois grupos de pessoas: os policiais e promotores. E a família disfuncional da médica.
Nos policiais, destaque para o Detetive Donovan McAvoy, muito bom trabalho do ator Roger Cross. Na família de Jenny, temos o pai com sinais de demência, a mãe traumatizada pela morte da outra filha e um jovem filho (Ehren Kassam) que pretende ser chef de cozinha.
Vi apenas dois ou três episódios dos mais de quarenta disponíveis.
Me pareceu bem produzida, bem escrita e bem interpretada. Os temas – embora tenham a identidade central das autópsias – são bem variados.
Também é interessante ver as diferenças de enfoques da Tv Canadense para as séries americanas a que estamos mais acostumados.

THE CORONER was so successful that it ran for four seasons.
Dr. Jenny Cooper is not satisfied with performing autopsies within the standard. Then she says that every body has a story and she makes a point of going after them.
Jenny interacts with two groups of people: police officers and prosecutors. And the doctor’s dysfunctional family.
In the police department, Detective Donovan McAvoy stands out, very good work by actor Roger Cross. In Jenny’s family, we have the father with signs of dementia, the mother traumatized by the death of her other daughter and a young son (Ehren Kassam) who wants to be a chef.
I only saw two or three episodes of the more than forty available.
It seemed well produced, well written and well performed. The themes – although they have the central identity of the autopsies – are quite varied.
It is also interesting to see the differences in approach from Canadian TV to the American series we are more accustomed to.
It is worth it.
