Colin Ferrell vive o Detetive Particular John Sugar, que é contratado por um produtor de cinema milionário (James Cromwell) para encontrar Olivia (Sidney Chandler), sua neta desaparecida.
Sugar é um grande fã de cinema e passa o tempo todo vendo filmes antigos, citando cenas e falas e vivendo como os grandes P.I.s dos filmes noir.
O elenco tem as ótimas Amy Ryan e Anna Gunn.
Gostei muito dos dois primeiros capítulos. Há muita coisa ótima na série.
O cachorro vira lata que Sugar herda, por exemplo, é um achado. Estou achando ótimo o desenvolvimento da trama, com os problemas de saúde bem estranhos de Sugar e o início de sua relação com a alcoólatra mãe da desaparecida.
Li várias críticas que moeram SUGAR a partir de um twist da história que está por vir. Dizem que é completamente descabido.
Fiquei curioso. Por enquanto SUGAR é um policial noir muito bem feito com Farrell e Meirelles mostrando seus talentos.

The stray dog that Sugar inherits, for example, is a goal. I think the development of the plot is great, with Sugar’s very strange health problems and the beginning of her relationship with the missing woman’s alcoholic mother.
I read several reviews that criticised SUGAR for a twist in the story to come. They say it is completely unreasonable.
I got curious. For now SUGAR is a very well done crime noir with Farrell and Meirelles showing their talents.
