Está em cartaz na Amazon Prime Video (esbarrei meio sem querer), um filme que fez sucesso no Festival de Tribecca, em 2015: é TUMBLEDOWN, filme de estreia do diretor Sam Mewshaw.
Rebecca Hall, ótima atriz inglesa (gosto muito dela em VICKY CRISTINA BARCELONA, de Woody Allen) vive Hannah, a viuva de um talentoso compositor musical e cantor de folk que morreu muito cedo em um aparente acidente nas montanhas da região onde viviam. Andrew McCabe, um escritor novaiorquino (Jason Sudeikis, pré-sucesso de TED LASSO) vai encontrá-la com o propósito de fazer uma biografia que leve ao mundo a vida da falecido.
A missão do escritor faz renascer com toda força o luto da viúva e o sentimento de todos a sua volta de que a vida pode e deve continuar mesmo com a morte de seu amado.
O elenco tem ótimos coadjuvantes, como Griffin Dune, Blythe Danner, Joe Manganiello, Diana Agron e Richard Masur.
Há muitas cenas tocantes no roteiro do filme, que se aprofunda no luto da jovem Hannah e as lembranças de seu marido.
Há um sentimento de melancolia por trás do filme, mas um sentimento que parece real, tratado com uma sensibilidade acima da média.
A criação artística é outro tema caro ao filme, no qual também se sai muito bem.
Claro que tudo vem embalado por uma fotografia muito bonita, uma trilha sonora folk entre triste e romântica e um final aparentemente feliz.
TUMBLEDOWN cumpre tudo o que promete.

Rebecca Hall, a very good English actress, plays Hannah, the widow of a talented musical composer and folk singer who died very early in an apparent accident in the mountains of the region where they lived. Andrew McCabe, a New York writer (Jason Sudeikis, pre-successful TED LASSO) will meet her with the purpose of writing a biography that takes the deceased’s life to the world.
The writer’s mission revives the widow’s grief and the feeling of everyone around her that life can and should continue even with the death of her loved one.
The cast has great supporting actors, such as Griffin Dune, Blythe Danner, Joe Manganiello, Diana Agron and Richard Masur.
There are many touching scenes in the film’s script, which dives into young Hannah’s grief and memories of her husband.
There is a feeling of melancholy behind the film, but a feeling that feels real, handled with above-average sensitivity.
Artistic creation is another theme dear to the film, in which it also does very well.
Of course, everything comes packaged with very beautiful photography, a folk soundtrack that is somewhere between sad and romantic and an apparently happy ending.
TUMBLEDOWN delivers on everything it promises.
