Finalmente vi DUNA PARTE DOIS, a sequer de Dennis Villeneuve baseada no livro de Frank Herbert. Já tinha gostado da Parte Um, em função da beleza incrível das imagens, da excelência do roteiro e do elenco multi estrelado.
Pois, como todo mundo disse, esta Parte Dois é ainda melhor. Bem melhor.
Há mais aventuras, explorando os incríveis cenários e situações (como os vermes gigantes). Há mais drama, como a assunção do posto de mãe de todos pela personagem de Rebecca Ferguson (cada vez melhor). Há a liderança de Paul, enfrentando o Imperador e suas tropas, Temos o romance de Paul e Chang, agora ameaçado pelo novo posto do mocinho. Vemos também as entranhas do Império, com suas múltiplas fraquezas. Tem muita coisa interessante.
Claro que o elenco impressionante ajuda muito o filme de Villeneuve. Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Barden, Christopher Walken, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Charlotte Rampling, David Bautista, Josh Brolin, Lea Seydoux e Stellan Skasgard fazem um time que impressiona qualquer fã de cinema atual. Um baita elenco.
O gênero da ficção científica, ao longo dos anos, teve muitas obras primas (2001 segue merecidamente sendo o mais citado). As histórias passadas em planetas ou épocas futuras sempre me encantaram. Quem cria esses universos tem que ser muito bom de imaginação e talento.
Não há dúvida de que Frank Herbert criou um dos melhores universos futuristas de todos.
Dennis Villeneuve soube manter tudo o que havia de melhor na história dos livros e acrescentar seu toque pessoal (que convenhamos também é pleno de talento).
O resultado é fascinante.
DUNA PARTE DOIS é um filme do qual a gente não consegue tirar os olhos da tela, durante seus quase imperceptíveis duas horas e quarenta e seis minutos.
É um grande filme em todos os sentidos.
I finally saw DUNE PART TWO, the one by Dennis Villeneuve based on the book by Frank Herbert.
I had already liked Part One, due to the incredible beauty of the images, the excellence of the script and the multi-star cast.
Well, like everyone said, this Part Two is even better. Much better.
There are more adventures, exploring the incredible settings and situations (like the giant worms). There is more drama, such as the assumption of the role of everyone’s mother by Rebecca Ferguson’s character (getting better and better). There is Paul’s leadership, facing the Emperor and his troops. We have Paul and Chang’s romance, now threatened by the good guy’s new position.
We also see the underbelly of the Empire, with its multiple weaknesses. There are a lot of interesting things.
Of course, the impressive cast helps Villeneuve’s film a lot. Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Barden, Christopher Walken, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Charlotte Rampling, David Bautista, Josh Brolin, Lea Seydoux and Stellan Skasgard make a team that impresses any current film fan. A hell of a cast.
The science fiction genre, over the years, has had many masterpieces (2001 deservedly remains the most cited).
Stories set in future planets or times have always enchanted me.
Whoever creates these universes has to have very good imagination and talent. There is no doubt that Frank Herbert created one of the best futuristic universes ever.
Dennis Villeneuve knew how to keep everything that was best in the history of the books and add his personal touch (who, let’s face it, is also full of talent).
The result is fascinating.
DUNE PART TWO is a film from which we cannot take our eyes off the screen, during its almost imperceptible two hours and forty-six minutes.
It’s a great film in every way.
