Está em cartaz na NETFLIX, o interessante e bem intencionado filme inglês UM JOGO BONITO (THE BEAUTIFUL GAME), dirigido pela produtora e cineasta britânica Thea Sharrock.
Até ver o filme, confesso que eu nunca tinha ouvido falar na COPA DO MENDO DOS SEM TETO, em evento promovido por organizações beneficentes para reunir seleções de futebol de diversos países com o intuito de divulgar a situação das pessoas sem teto no mundo e promover sua inclusão na sociedade.
O extraordinário Bill Nighy vive o treinador da seleção inglesa, o temperamental Mal. um sujeito de coração imenso que se dedica à causa de forma única.
A edição da Copa do Mundo que o filme mostra foi em Roma.
Muito interessante ver o andamento do evento, seus problemas permanentes, a dificuldade de levar os jogos até o final e conseguir atingir os objetivos da Copa do Mundo dos Sem Teto.
Micheal Ward, Beckett Handley, Daniel Atwell, Christina Rodlo, Susan Wokoma e Robin Nazari fazem os papeis principais.
Claro que o filme padece de certa ingenuidade. Mas acho que nunca foi seu objetivo aprofundar demais o tema dos sem teto, o que deixaria a narrativa muito pesada. Ao contrário, apesar de mencionar os problemas mais graves, o roteiro nunca abandona um certo tom de fábula da vida real.
O conhecido expediente de mostrar fotos reais de jogos, personagens e da Copa do Mundo ao final do filme, enriquece e emociona a narrativa. Foi uma boa solução.
Os temas da diversidade e da inclusão estão muito bem postos em um filme delicado e ao mesmo tempo provocador de reflexões mais profundas.

Until I saw the film, I confess that I had never heard of the HOMELESS WORLD CUP, an event promoted by charitable organizations to bring together football teams from different countries with the aim of publicizing the situation of homeless people in the world and promoting their inclusion in society.
The extraordinary Bill Nighy plays the coach of the English national team, the temperamental Mal. A guy with a huge heart who dedicates himself to the cause in a unique way.
The edition of the World Cup that the film shows was in Rome.
Very interesting to see the progress of the event, its permanent problems, the difficulty of taking the games to the end and achieving the objectives of the Homeless World Cup.

Of course, the film suffers from a certain naivety. But I don’t think it was ever his goal to delve too deeply into the theme of homelessness, which would make the narrative too heavy. On the contrary, despite mentioning the most serious problems, the script never abandons a certain tone of real-life fable.
The well-known method of showing real photos of games, characters and the World Cup at the end of the film enriches and moves the narrative. It was a good solution.
The themes of diversity and inclusion are very well presented in a film that is delicate and at the same time provokes deeper reflections.
