A NETFLIX está exibindo o filme HIT MAN, dirigido pelo cineasta Richard Linklater.
Linklater é justificadamente um cineasta de grande prestígio junto à crítica. Afinal, fez ótimos filmes, como BOYHOOD e a trilogia BEFORE SUNRISE, BEFORE SUNSET e BEFORE MIDNIGHT. Já foi indicado para 5 Oscars.
HIT MAN é um filme diferente de Linklater.
Embora não seja nem uma comédia nem um drama, a trama transita pelos dois gêneros.
Um professor universitário que faz um “bico” de TI na Polícia, em um dia é obrigado a simular que é um assassino profissional. Gosta da encenação e passa a fazer esse trabalho para as autoridades.
O problema surge quando Gary johnson (Glenn Powell) encontra a linda Madison Figueroa (Adria Arjona), uma mulher que tem um relacionamento abusivo com o namorado e quer se livrar dele.
Há boas situações cômicas no filme. Mas Linklater também se interessa em explorar alguns aspectos mais “dark” de seu enredo. Afinal, encomendar a morte de pessoas próximas é bem pesado.
Vi todo filme com interesse, mas acho que podia ser melhor desenvolvido.
Por exemplo, as analogias com os westerns (o matador profissional é um figura cara ao gênero) foram pouco exploradas.
De qualquer sorte, fica claro mais uma vez que Richard Linklater é um cineasta com ideias próprias.

Although it is neither a comedy nor a drama, the plot moves between both genres.
A university professor who works in IT for the Police, one day is forced to pretend that he is a professional killer. He likes the act and starts doing this work for the authorities.
The problem arises when Gary Johnson (Glenn Powell) meets the beautiful Madison Figueroa (Adria Arjona), a woman who has an abusive relationship with her boyfriend and wants to get rid of him.
There are good comic situations in the film. But Linklater is also interested in exploring some of the darker aspects of his plot. After all, ordering the death of people close to you is pretty heavy.
I watched the whole film with interest, but I think it could have been better developed.
For example, the analogies with westerns (the professional killer is an important figure in the genre) were little explored.
In any case, it is clear once again that Richard Linklater is a filmmaker with his own ideas.
