Por indicação do meu amigo Gabriel Magadan, fui atrás do filme italiano AINDA TEMOS O AMANHÃ, dirigido e interpretado pela atriz, produtora e cineasta Paola Cortellesi. O filme está em cartaz no GNC Cinemas e na Apple TV.
Que dica certeira!
Trata-se de um filme excelente, merecidamente ganhador de prêmios no circuito internacional (3 David di Donatello e Festivais de Sidney e Roma), elogios rasgados da crítica internacional e consagrado pelo público com a maior bilheteria de um filme italiano pós pandemia.
Merece tudo e mais um pouco.
A diretora Paola Cortellesi vive Delia, uma mulher com três filhos, casada com um homem violento e abusivo(Valerio Mastrandea), do tipo mais arraigado do que modernamente se denomina masculinidade tóxica. Toda manhã ela bate nela pelo motivo mais irrelevante ou por nenhum motivo. Destrata a esposa na frente dos filhos e dos vizinhos habitualmente.
Delia, além de todas as tarefas domésticas, é obrigada a cuidar do sogro enfermo (Giorgio Colangeli) que igualmente abusa dela e gosta de dizer ao filho que bata nela apenas de tempos em tempos para ela saber que errou.
A filha adolescente (Romana Maggiora Vergano) sonha em encontrar um namorado e, pelo casamento sair de casa. Afinal o Pai a impede de estudar porque o dinheiro da família apenas dá para colocar os filhos homens na escola.
Pois, contrariando a tudo e a todos Delia vai encontrar uma motivação para enfrentar esse quadro desolador.
O cinema já fez (e faz o tempo todo) libelos feministas sobre a situação da mulher, o machismo e as duríssimas conquistas femininas na história. Raramente vi um filme tão assertivo e certeiro tratando desses temas.
Brilhante da primeira à última cena, C’è ancora domani é um filme obrigatório.
Ah, a trama se passa nos anos 40, no pós guerra em Roma. Mas poderia ser em qualquer lugar do mundo ou em qualquer tempo. A luta da mulher por seus direito é universal e atemporal.

On the recommendation of my friend Gabriel Magadan, I went after the Italian film THERE’S STILL TOMORROW, directed and performed by actress, producer and filmmaker Paola Cortellesi. The film is showing at GNC Cinemas and on Apple TV.

It deserves everything and more.
Director Paola Cortellesi plays Delia, a woman with three children, married to a violent and abusive man (Valerio Mastrandea) , the most deep-rooted type of what is now called toxic masculinity. Every morning he hits her for the most irrelevant reason or for no reason at all. He regularly mistreats her wife in front of her children and neighbours.
Delia, in addition to all the household works, is forced to take care of her sick father-in-law (Giorgio Colangeli) who equally abuses her and likes to tell his son to hit her only from time to time so she knows she made a mistake.
The teenage daughter (Romana Maggiora Vergano) dreams of finding a boyfriend and, through marriage, leaving home. After all, her father prevents her from studying because the family’s money is only enough to send her male sons to school.
Well, contrary to everything and everyone, Delia will find a motivation to face this desolate situation.
Cinema has already made (and does all the time) feminist libels about the situation of women, machismo and the very difficult achievements of women in history. I have rarely seen a film so assertive and accurate dealing with these themes.
Brilliant from the first scene to the last, C’è ancora domani is a must-see film.
Oh, the plot takes place in the 40s, in post-war Rome. But it could be anywhere in the world or at any time. Women’s fight for their rights is universal and timeless.
There’s a outstanding film there.
