Uma pequena jóia está no meio do acervo da NETFLIX: A INCRÍVEL HISTÓRIA DA ILHA DAS ROSAS, do escritor e cineasta Sydney Sibila.
O filme mostra um fato real ocorrido no final da década de 60, quando um jovem engenheiro chamado Giorgio Rosa criou junto com o também engenheiro Maurizio Orlandini, uma pequena ilha de aço no Mar Adriático , fora do limite territorial italiano, próximo à cidade de Rimini. A Ilha das Rosas seria o país independente deles.
Como era final dos anos 60, no auge da contestação do poder do estado e no florescer da liberação sexual, a Ilha das Rosas foi um sucesso imediato.
Claro que as autoridades não gostaram da ideia. E passaram a combater a utopia dos dois engenheiros com todas as forças.
O filme de Sibila peca pela mesma ingenuidade da ideia original. Há muitos momentos de pura fábula, o que não foge ao espírito de comédia (dramática) do filme. O non sense da ideia está presente o tempo todo na trama.
O elenco tem Elio Germano, Leonardo Lidi, Tom Wlashiha, o ótimo François Cluzet e a fulgurante Matilda de Angelis (vista na série da HBO THE UNDOING).
Claro que o filme imediatamente desperta a curiosidade para se saber o que é real e o que é ficção na história da Ilha das Rosas.
O mais inacreditável é que a história é realmente verdadeira e o filme parece respeitar a realidade.
Na minha opinião, L’incredibile storia dell’isola delle rose vale muito a pena ser visto.
Como diz a protagonista Gabriella para seu amado e idealista Giorgio Rosa, “o importante é mudar o mundo. Ou ao menos tentar”.
A small gem is in the middle of the NETFLIX collection: ROSE ISLAND, by writer and filmmaker Sydney Sibila.

The cast includes Elio Germano, Leonardo Lidi, Tom Wlashiha, the great François Cluzet and the luminous Matilda de Angelis (seen in the HBO series THE UNDOING).
Of course, the film immediately awakens curiosity to know what is real and what is fiction in the history of Ilha das Rosas.
The most unbelievable thing is that the story is actually true and the film seems to respect reality.
In my opinion, L’incredibile storia dell’isola delle rose is very much worth seeing.
As the protagonist Gabriella says to her beloved and idealist Giorgio Rosa, “the important thing is to change the world. Or at least try.”
