O filme INVITATION TO A MURDER, dirigido pelo cineasta Stephen Shimmeck recria uma brincadeira sobre a clássica fórmula de histórias policiais: o “quem matou?”
Uma “chubby” Misha Barton vive Miranda Green, a admiradora fanática de histórias policiais que se vê em meio a uma delas. Quem está matando as pessoas no final de semana proposto pelo milionário Lewis Findley.
Fã confesso dos livros de Arthur Conan Doyle e Agatha Christie, eu realmente gosto daquelas histórias em que pistas falsas tentam nos afastar da descoberta do real vilão, até a cena final, em que tudo é revelado.
O filme tem um tom leve e descontraído, quase cômico, brincando com todos os clichês do gênero.
Acho que isso segura a narrativa e o interesse do espectador.
Como ponto negativo, acho que os personagens coadjuvantes de Miranda Green poderiam ser mais interessantes. Algo na linha do ótimo KNIVES OUT, de Ryan Johnson.
Mesmo assim, INVITATION TO A MURDER é um ótimo entretenimento.
Acho que Miranda Green vai voltar às telas.
The film INVITATION TO A MURDER, directed by filmmaker Stephen Shimmeck, recreates a play on the classic formula of detective stories: “who killed?”
A “chubby” Misha Barton plays Miranda Green, the fanatical admirer of detective stories who finds herself in the middle of one of them. Who is killing people on the weekend proposed by millionaire Lewis Findley.
A self-confessed fan of Arthur Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie‘s books, I really like those stories in which false clues try to keep us from discovering the real villain, until the final scene, in which everything is revealed.
The film has a light and relaxed tone, almost comical, playing with all the clichés of the genre.
I think this holds the narrative and the viewer’s interest.
On the downside, I think Miranda Green’s supporting characters could be more interesting. Something along the lines of the great KNIVES OUT, by Ryan Johnson.
Still, INVITATION TO A MURDER is great entertainment.
I think Miranda Green will return to the screen.
