Uma das coisas que ajuda o filme é seu elenco de figurinhas premiadas. Além do próprio Costner, Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, Jenna Malone, Giovanni Ribisi, Danny Houston, Abbey Lee, Tom Payne, Michael Rooker, Will Patton, Jimmy Lau e Luke Wilson encarnam personagens da saga.
O filme não poupa recursos em cenas de ação. O grande ataque dos índios a um acampamento de brancos é filmado em detalhes (violentos inclusive) e ocupa boa parte das três horas do filme. É de fazer o espectador se segurar na cadeira.
As épicas histórias do oeste são, até hoje geradoras de grande filmes.
HORIZON ainda vai ter a segunda parte.
Mas a primeira desde já o coloca como entretenimento de primeira linha.

No wonder his DANCE WITH WOLVES won 2 Oscars and more than 65 international awards. Also unrelated to chance, Costner comes from immense success in the series YELLOWSTONE, for four seasons.
One of the things that helps the film is its cast of award-winning characters. In addition to Costner himself, Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, Jenna Malone, Giovanni Ribisi, Danny Houston, Abbey Lee, Tom Payne, Michael Rooker, Will Patton, Jimmy Lau and Luke Wilson play characters in the saga.
The film spares no resources in action scenes. The great attack by the Indians on a white camp is filmed in detail (including violent ones) and takes up a good part of the film’s three hours. It’s enough to make the viewer hold on to their seats.
The epic stories of the West still generate great films today.
HORIZON will still have a second part.
But the first already places it as top-notch entertainment.
Kevin Costner got it right again. He does very well in the Wild West.
