O DIA DO CHACAL, excelente best seller que o escritor Frederick Forsyth escreveu nos anos 70 segue dando pano para manga.

O Peacock anunciou, durante a abertura dos Jogos Olímpicos de Paris 2024, uma nova série intitulada O DIA DO CHACAL, estrelando o oscarizado Eddie Redmayne e Lashana Lynch. O terceiro nome do elenco da série é a espanhola Ursula Corberó.

A série entra no ar em 07 de novembro.

O Chacal é um assassino profissional que uma organização dissidente política na França, para matar o Presidente Charles De Gaule. Uma agente inglesa segue a trilha do hitman através da Europa.

O filme original, feito em 1973, por Fred Zinnemann – com Edward Fox como o Chacal – é, até hoje, um thriller prodigioso. No ano 1997, o ingl%es Michael Caton Jones fez uma adaptação livre do livro, onde Bruce Willis era o hitman encarregado de matar a primeira dama dos EUS, perseguido por Richard Gere. Ficou longe do original.

A verdade é que a trama de Forsyth é tão rica e interessante que até hoje segue fascinando cineasta, estúdios e espectadores.

THE DAY OF THE JACKAL, an excellent bestseller written by writer Frederick Forsyth in the 1970s, continues to be a hot topic.

During the opening of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Peacock announced a new series entitled THE DAY OF THE JACKAL, starring Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne and Lashana Lynch. The third name in the cast of the series is Spanish actress Ursula Corberó.

The series will air on November 7.

The Jackal is a professional assassin who is hired by a dissident political organization in France to kill President Charles De Gaulle. An English agent follows the hitman’s trail across Europe.

The original film, made in 1973 by Fred Zinnemann – with Edward Fox as the Jackal – is still a prodigious thriller. In 1997, English director Michael Caton Jones made a loose adaptation of the book, in which Bruce Willis played the hitman tasked with killing the First Lady of the United States, pursued by Richard Gere. It was far from the original.

The truth is that Forsyth’s plot is so rich and interesting that it continues to fascinate filmmakers, studios and viewers to this day.
