O elenco até atrai: Alec Baldwin, Terrence Howard, Esai Morales e Nicky Whelan (atriz australiana que parece atraída para filmes muito ruins).
Um trio de policiais caça um serial killer que faz vítimas a granel em uma pequena cidade do sul dos Estados Unidos.
O roteiro é miserável. Vai sucedendo cenas sem sentido, com muita violência explícita e envolvendo os personagens de modo gratuito.
Há diálogos simplesmente patéticos, como o da linda detetive australiana indo até a casa do amante confrontar a esposa dele se ela não achava que ele era o criminoso.
O final é muito ruim e tem uma interminável luta corporal entre dois protagonistas, desagradável de aguentar.
Sempre que vejo um filme tão ruim, fico me perguntando se naquelas centenas de pessoas cujos nomes aparecem nos créditos, não havia alguém para dar o alerta de que tudo caminhava muito mal?
CRESCENT CITY é didático. O que não se deve fazer em um thriller.

The cast is quite appealing: Alec Baldwin, Terrence Howard, Esai Morales and Nicky Whelan (an Australian actress who seems drawn to very bad films).
A trio of police officers hunt a serial killer who is killing a large number of victims in a small town in the southern United States.
The script is miserable. There are endless scenes of nonsense, with lots of explicit violence and gratuitous involvement of the characters.
There is simply pathetic dialogue, such as the one where the beautiful Australian detective goes to her lover’s house to confront his wife if she doesn’t think he is the criminal.
The ending is very bad and there is an endless physical fight between the two protagonists, which is unpleasant to watch.
Whenever I see a movie this bad, I wonder if there was someone among those hundreds of people whose names appear in the credits to warn the producers that things were going very badly?
CRESCENT CITY is educational. What you shouldn’t do in a thriller.
