Entrou em cartaz na Apple TV, a série BAD MONKEY, produzida e estrelada pelo ator Vince Vaughn.
Ele vive Andrew Yancy, um policial de Miami suspenso pelos chefes depois de ter agredido o marido de uma namorada na frente de muitas testemunhas.
Usufruindo o ócio criativo em uma casa a beira mar no Florida Keys, ele é procurado pelo ex-parceiro de polícia para resolver o caso de um braço humano acidentalmente “pescado”por um turista de final de semana.
A série busca desenvolver um clima noir: um detetive quebrado, mulheres fatais a granel e uma trama muito mais complexa do que a princípio parece.
Vaughn é suficientemente simpático para levar bem o papel cínico do protagonista.
Neste primeiro episódio, o maior destaque fica com o elenco feminino: Michelle Monaghan, Meredith Hagner, Nathalie Martinez, Jodie-Turner Smith e L. Scott Caldwell. No naipe masculino, Rob Delaney, Tom Nowicki, John Ortiz e Ronald Peet.
Os produtores também acertaram em explorar ao máximo a beleza dos Keys e de Mimai, trazendo cenas e paisagens de tirar o fôlego.
Com grande fã dos textos clássicos com P.I.s, me agradei do início da série.
Vou seguir vendo onde as aventuras de Yancy vão leva-lo.
The series BAD MONKEY, produced by and starring actor Vince Vaughn, has just premiered on Apple TV.
He plays Andrew Yancy, a Miami cop suspended by his bosses after assaulting his girlfriend’s husband in front of many witnesses.
Enjoying his creative leisure time in a beachfront house in the Florida Keys, he is sought out by his former police partner to solve the case of a human arm accidentally “fished” by a weekend tourist.
The series seeks to develop a noir atmosphere: a broken detective, femmes fatales galore and a plot that is much more complex than it first seems.
Vaughn is likable enough to carry off the cynical role of the protagonist well.
In this first episode, the biggest highlight is the female cast: Michelle Monaghan, Meredith Hagner, Nathalie Martinez, Jodie-Turner Smith and L. Scott Caldwell. In the male cast, Rob Delaney, Tom Nowicki, John Ortiz and Ronald Peet.
The producers also did a great job of making the most of the beauty of the Keys and Mimai, bringing breathtaking scenes and landscapes.
As a big fan of classic texts with P.I.s, I enjoyed the beginning of the series.
I’ll keep watching where Yancy’s adventures will take him.
