Estreou mundialmente no Festival de Veneza, o novo filme de Walter Salles, AINDA ESTOU AQUI, baseado no livro do escritor Marcelo Rubens Paiva.

O filme foi aplaudido por dez minutos depois da sua exibição na Sessão de Gala de Veneza.

A história mostra a vida de Eunce Paiva (Fernanda Montenegro/Fernanda Torres), a viúva do político e engenheiro Rubens Paiva (Selton Mello), sequestrado e morto pela ditadura militar no ano de 1971. A morte de Rubens Paiva somente foi confirmada 40 anos depois.

Um de seus filhos, Marcelo Rubens Paiva se tornou um escritor de sucesso, com obras como FELIZ ANO VELHO.

Walter Salles tem em sua história 33 filmes como diretor, entre os quais a obra prima CENTRAL DO BRASIL, DIÁRIOS DE MOTOCICLETA e ON THE ROAD.

A recepção ao filme por parte da crítica especializada em Veneza foi unânime em apontar um filme denso, político e profundamente emocionante.

Parece que 26 anos depois da injustiça sofrida por CENTRAL DO BRASIL no Oscar, Walter Salles terá a segunda chance de dar ao Brasil seu primeiro Oscar.

Walter Salles‘ new film, I’M STILL HERE, based on the book by writer Marcelo Rubens Paiva, had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival.

The film received a ten-minute standing ovation after its screening at the Venice Gala.

The story follows the life of Eunce Paiva (Fernanda Montenegro/Fernanda Torres), the widow of politician and engineer Rubens Paiva (Selton Mello), who was kidnapped and killed by the military dictatorship in 1971. Rubens Paiva’s death was only confirmed 40 years later.
