Está em cartaz na Apple TV, o filme australiano THE DRY 2 – FORCE OF NATURE, dirigido por Robert Connolly.
Connoly fez THE DRY, um excelente thriller com Eric Bana vivendo o agente do FBI Aron Falk, anos atrás.
Ator e diretor voltam ao personagem com uma nova história. Em uma daquelas dinâmicas empresariais modernas, a dona de uma empresa leva cinco executivas para uma sena em mato fechado. O objetivo é fortalecer o team work. Tudo dá errado e quando elas saem da floresta, uma desapareceu.
O agente Falk é chamado para o caso, porque a desaparecida Alice Russell (Anna Torv sempre ótima) era uma informante do bureau prestes a denunciar grossas irregularidades da empresa.
A trama rola admiravelmente bem, adotando a narrativa da moda, alternando cenas do que ocorreu na floresta com cenas da investigação sobre o desaparecimento.
Acho que THE DRY – PART ONE tinha um climão noir mais elaborado e interessante. Era uma narrativa policial mais clássica em que o “quem matou?” era somente um dos elementos.
Essa PARTE DOIS é visualmente mais rica (as cenas da floresta fechada em Victória, interior da Austrália são impressionantes) mas menos criativa nas soluções da trama.
Gosto bastante de Eric Bana e acho que seu Aron Falk segue um de seus melhores trabalhos. Um agente do FBI corajoso e agressivo que guarda traumas do passado que influenciam em tudo o que faz. Um belo personagem.
Recomendo THE DRY 2 – FORCE OF NATURE.

Connolly made THE DRY, an excellent thriller starring Eric Bana as FBI agent Aron Falk, years ago.
The actor and director return to the character with a new story. In one of those modern business dynamics, the owner of a company takes five executives to a meeting in the woods. The goal is to strengthen teamwork.
Everything goes wrong and when they leave the forest, one has disappeared.
Agent Falk is called to the case because the missing Alice Russell (Anna Torv, always great) was an informant for the bureau about to expose serious irregularities in the company.
The plot unfolds admirably well, adopting the fashionable narrative, alternating scenes of what happened in the forest with scenes of the investigation into the disappearance.
I think THE DRY – PART ONE had a more elaborate and interesting noir atmosphere. It was a more classic detective story in which the “who killed?” was just one of the elements.
This PART TWO is visually richer (the scenes of the dense forest in Victoria, in the Australian outback, are impressive) but less creative in the plot solutions.
I really like Eric Bana and I think his Aron Falk continues one of his best works.
A brave and aggressive FBI agent who harbors traumas from the past that influence everything he does. A great character.
I recommend THE DRY 2 – FORCE OF NATURE.
Once again, the Bana – Connolly duo got it right.
