Acho que THE BAY, série policial britânica que chega a quinta temporada, consegue manter o alto nível de suas tramas, mostrando desde o primeiro capítulo da primeira temporada. E olha que a série passou pela armadilha de perder sua protagonista (Morven Christie) que deixou o seriado no final da segunda temporada.
Hoje a protagonista é a ótima Marsha Thompson, vivendo a policial D.S. Jenn Townsend, uma detetive com tanto talento investigativo quanto afundada em problemas familiares que insistem em se mesclar com os crimes que ela tenta resolver na pacata comunidade de Lancashire, na costa inglesa.
Um segundo marido egoísta e prestas a dar uma pulada de cerca, uma mãe demente que resolve ir morar com ela, dois filhos pós adolescentes cheios de dúvidas existenciais e uma enteada realmente disposta a incomodar.
O chefe de Jenn é o ótimo D.I.Tonny Manning (Daniel Ryan), uma autoridade rigorosa com o cumprimento da lei, mas com problemas de convivência com a cobrança de suas chefias.
Já são cinco histórias de THE BAY (cada temporada traz um novo crime a ser investigado), todas em alto nível.
Com seis capítulos as temporadas dão aos roteiristas a possibilidade de criar tramas bem complexas, cheias de reviravoltas e múltiplos suspeitos, como convém a um bom filme policial.

With six chapters, the seasons give the writers the opportunity to create very complex plots, full of twists and turns and multiple suspects, as befits a good crime film.
