Lee Miller foi uma fotógrafa americana que deixou a carreira de modelo, passando a ser correspondente de guerra da Revista Vogue, durante a Segunda Guerra Mundial.
Os trabalhos fotográficos feitos por ela seguem sendo marcos na história da fotografia jornalística, como é o caso da icônica fotografia da banheira de Adolf Hitler.
A narrativa da diretora Kuras não poupa cenas de violência e crueldade da guerra. ao contrário, se alia à personagem principal em denunciar os horrores das batalhas e suas consequências totalmente desumanas, especialmente nos campos de concentração.
Ao lado de Winslet, estão Alexandre Skarsgard, Andy Samberg, Marion Cotillard, Andrea Risebourough, Noemie Merlant e James Murray. É um elenco soberbo a serviço do cinema de Kuras.Um dos destaques do filme.
Por sinal, a parte formal igualmente se destaca, como a música de Alexandre Desplat e a fotografia do polonês Pawel Edelman. São dois trabalhos memoráveis.

Director Kuras’ narrative does not spare scenes of violence and cruelty of war. On the contrary, it allies itself with the main character in denouncing the horrors of battles and their totally inhumane consequences, especially in the concentration camps.
Alexandre Skarsgard, Andy Samberg, Marion Cotillard, Andrea Risebourough, Noemie Merlant and James Murray are also starring alongside Winslet. It’s a superb cast at the service of Kuras’ cinema. One of the highlights of the film.
