Há vários motivos pelos quais achei esta terceira temporada de THE LINCOLN LAWYER, a melhor até agora.
Claro que a base são as excelentes histórias de Michael Connelly, um escritor mestre em criar personagens e situações ótimas na vida de Mickey Haller, o advogado do carro Lincoln.
As tramas deste Opus 3 são excelentes. Do caso de assassinato por um cliente de Haller, as evoluções de seus assessores principais, o romance com a promotora implacável, o conflito com a filha adolescente, o carinho do Legal, seu velho mentor e por aí vai.
Mas o que mais me chamou a atenção são as aparições (na cabeça de Haller) daqueles que morreram em sua trajetória. Os Deuses da Culpa. Connelly, em seus livros, trabalha esse tema admiravelmente. Quem não tem seus Deuses da Culpa?
Manuel Garcia Rulfo, Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole, Krista Warner, Elliot Gould, Angus Sampson, Neve Campbell, os habituées da série, desta vez tem a ilustra companhia de Yaya DaCosta, fazendo uma ótima Andrea Freeman, um dos tops da temporada.
O twist final prepara a quarta temporada. Já li o livro desta história, onde Haller é acusado de matar um cliente que lhe deve muito dinheiro. É das melhores de todas que Connelly escreveu.
A season 4 promete ser espetacular.
There are several reasons why I found this third season of THE LINCOLN LAWYER to be the best so far.
Of course, the basis is the excellent stories by Michael Connelly, a writer who is a master at creating great characters and situations in the life of Mickey Haller, the lawyer of the Lincoln car.
The plots of this Opus 3 are excellent. From the murder case of one of Haller’s clients, the evolution of his main advisors, the romance with the ruthless prosecutor, the conflict with his teenage daughter, the affection of the Legal, his old mentor and so on.
But what caught my attention the most are the appearances (in Haller’s head) of those who died in his career. The Gods of Guilt. Connelly, in his books, works this theme admirably. Who doesn’t have his/her Gods of Guilt?
Manuel Garcia Rulfo, Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole, Krista Warner, Elliot Gould, Angus Sampson, Neve Campbell, the series regulars, are now joined by Yaya DaCosta, who plays a great Andrea Freeman, one of the season’s standouts.
The final twist sets up the fourth season. I’ve already read the book of this story, in which Haller is accused of killing a client who owes him a lot of money. It’s one of the best Connelly has written.
Season 4 promises to be spectacular.
