A jornalista e escritora Gia Lombardi (Shailene Woodley, cada vez melhor) corre a América em busca da voz de mulheres comuns que ninguém quer ouvir.
Localiza um dona de casa mala amada , uma jovem estudante abusada por seu professor e um rica empresária que mantém um casamento aberto. Escreve um livro dando voz as três mulheres tão diferentes mas tão iguais em suas angústias, desejos, paixões e dificuldades.
O resultado são dez capítulos que forma feitos por inspiração da diretora, produtora e roteirista Lisa Taddeo, autora do livro que inspirou a série.
As atrizes escolhidas ajudaram muito o atendimento do objetivo da série. Betty Gilpin faz Lina Parish, a dona de casa se libertando de um casamento frio e sem amor. Gabrielle Creewy vive a jovem Maggie Wilkin, que vem a público denunciar seu ex-professor por uma relação imprópria mesmo com o descrédito generalizado. E DeWanda Wise faz Sloane Ford, uma organizadora de festas que curte com o marido trazer outros homens e mulheres para o quarto.
O elenco (ótimo) ainda tem Blair Underwood, Jason Ralph, Blair Redford e Ravi Patel.
O espectador vê as três histórias sem um só momento de tédio. Shailene – bem mais madura como atriz – consegue conduzir as narrativas em um nível altíssimo.
O STARZ impõe as suas produções que as imagens não tenham filtros ou truques que atenuem seu impacto. As coisas são mostradas como acontecem na vida, sem disfarce. Acho um respeito à audiência adulta do canal.
Achei TRÊS MULHERES um trabalho realmente diferenciado e que por todos os ângulos merece ser visto e discutido.
É uma das melhores séries de 2024.
The STARZ Channel comes up with some series that are way above average every now and then.
THREE WOMEN is the latest.
Journalist and writer Gia Lombardi (Shailene Woodley, getting better and better) travels across America in search of the voices of ordinary women that no one wants to hear.
She finds an unloved housewife, a young student abused by her teacher and a wealthy businesswoman who has an open marriage. She writes a book giving voice to three women who are so different but so similar in their anxieties, desires, passions and difficulties.
The result is ten chapters that were written with the inspiration of director, producer and screenwriter Lisa Taddeo, author of the book that inspired the series.
The actresses chosen helped a lot in achieving the series’ objective. Betty Gilpin plays Lina Parish, the housewife freeing herself from a cold and loveless marriage. Gabrielle Creewy plays the young Maggie Wilkin, who publicly denounces her former teacher for an inappropriate relationship despite widespread discredit. And DeWanda Wise plays Sloane Ford, a party planner who enjoys bringing other men and women into the bedroom with her husband.
The cast (great) also includes Blair Underwood, Jason Ralph, Blair Redford and Ravi Patel.
The viewer watches the three stories without a single dull moment. Shailene – much more mature as an actress – manages to conduct the narratives at a very high level.
STARZ requires that its productions have no filters or tricks that lessen their impact. Things are shown as they happen in life, without disguise. I think it is respectful of the channel’s adult audience.
I found THREE WOMEN to be a truly unique work that deserves to be seen and discussed from every angle.
It is one of the best series of 2024.
