A primeira vez que assisti OS PÁSSAROS foi na televisão. A TV Difusora tinha uma sessão nos domingos à noite que se chamava PALMA DE OURO. Certo domingo dos anos 60, minha família inteira ficou frente à TV para desfrutar a obra prima (mais uma ) do mestre Hitchcock.
As reações foram diversificadas. Lembro que meu Pai ficou furioso com o final em aberto.

Até hoje devo ter visto as estripulias dos amigos alados de Hitchcock umas vinte vezes.
O filme segue impressionante, perfeito, assustador e impecavelmente dramático.
Tippi Hedren, Rod Taylor, Jessica Tandy, Suzanne Pleshette e Veronica Catwright estão todos perfeitos no elenco impecavelmente dirigido.
A matéria do MOVIEWEB traz uma série de alusões psicanalíticas de Sigmund Freud sobre repressão sexual feminina e a relação tensa do trio central. Gostei bastante de ler.
OS PÁSSAROS pode ser visto como filme de terror, thriller, drama ou suspense .
Em qualquer destes gêneros trata-se de uma obra prima.
Hitchcock era um gênio.

One Sunday in the 60s, my whole family sat in front of the TV to enjoy the masterpiece (yet another one) by the master Hitchcock.
The reactions were varied.
I remember that my father was furious with the open ending.
Years later, in a festival about the English Master, I saw THE BIRDS again at the Bristol cinema.
To this day I must have seen the antics of Hitchcock’s winged friends about twenty times.
The film is still impressive, perfect, scary and impeccably dramatic.
Tippi Hedren, Rod Taylor, Jessica Tandy, Suzanne Pleshette and Veronica Catwright are all perfect in the impeccably directed cast.
