Sou fã rasgado do filme O DIA DO CHACAL, que o cineasta Fred Zinnemann fez em 1973, a partir do best seller de Frederic Forsyth, estrelando Edward Fox e Charles Lonsdale. Como no livro, o alvo do assassino Chacal era o presidente Francês Charles De Gaulle.
Anos depois (1997), o diretor Michael Caton jones fez nova versão da história, desta vez com Bruce Willis e Richard Gere. O alvo era a Vice Presidente dos EUA. Foi um bom filme, sem maiores brilhos.
A nova série do Peacock (em exibição no Disney+) tem dez capítulos. Eddie Redmayne (oscarizado ator) e Lashana Lynch vivem respectivamente o Chacal e a agente do MI6 que o caça sem cessar.
Vi os primeiros cinco capítulos. Me agradou bastante.
A trama concebida por Forsyth é brilhante. O caçador perfeito Chacal vira alvo de uma caçada e tem que fugir à perseguição enquanto prepara e executa o trabalho que vai lhe garantir uma fortuna e a aposentadoria.
Esta versão ainda tem a atriz. espanhola Ursula Corberó, a Tokyo de CASA DE PAPEL, num papel que ainda não decolou.
Salata aos olhos a riqueza da produção. Todos os detalhes são cumpridos com perfeição. Locais, prédios, armas, carros, praias, tudo é muito requintado. Encanta o espectador.
Esta primeira metade da série atingiu seus objetivos.
Estou ansioso por ver como vai se encerrar a caçada ao Chacal.
I’m a huge fan of the film THE DAY OF THE JACKAL, which filmmaker Fred Zinnemann made in 1973, based on the best-selling book by Frederic Forsyth, starring Edward Fox and Charles Lonsdale. As in the book, the assassin Jackal’s target was French President Charles De Gaulle.
Years later (1997), director Michael Caton Jones made a new version of the story, this time with Bruce Willis and Richard Gere. The target was the Vice President of the United States. It was a good film, without any major highlights.
The new Peacock series (showing on Disney+) has ten episodes. Eddie Redmayne (an Oscar-winning actor) and Lashana Lynch play the Jackal and the MI6 agent who hunts him relentlessly, respectively.
I watched the first five episodes. I really liked them.
The plot conceived by Forsyth is brilliant. The perfect hunter Jackal becomes the target of a hunt and has to escape the pursuit while preparing and making the job that will guarantee him a fortune and retirement.
This version also features Spanish actress Ursula Corberó, Tokyo from MONEY HEIST, in a role that has yet to take off.
The richness of the production is striking. Every detail is perfectly executed. Locations, buildings, weapons, cars, beaches, everything is very exquisite. It enchants the viewer.
This first half of the series achieved its goals.
I can’t wait to see how the hunt for the Jackal will end.
