COLUMBO: Série Clássica com Peter Falk Revolucionou o Filme Policial

COLUMBO, o mais famoso tenente detetive da Polícia de Los Angeles foi interpretado com maestria por Peter Falk. A série teve 13 temporadas e ganhou dois Globos de Ouro, 12 Emmy Awards e vários Prêmios Edgar Allan Poe. Seu último episódio foi ao ar em Janeiro de 2003.

Fui rever os primeiros episódios da primeira temporada (disponíveis no NOW e na Amazon Prime Video no app IMDB TV) e foi uma deliciosa experiência cinematográfica.

Entre tantas curiosidades da série, está o fato de ter na lista de diretores nomes como Steven Spielberg, John Cassavetes, Jonathan Demme, Jeannot Szwarc e Ted Post. Nas participações especiais, atores como Janet Leigh, Ida Lupino, Leonard Nimmoy, Martin Sheen, Sal Mineo, Gena Rowlands, Vincent Price, Robert Loggia, Susan Howard, Mel Ferrer, Gene Barry, Ray Milland e muitos outros.

O Tenente Columbo tinha como característica levar o suspeito a loucura voltando a interrogá-lo dezenas de vezes sempre com perguntas mais incisivas, como se fosse a ultima questão.

Mas o ponto em que os roteiros de COLUMBO foram realmente inovadores foi quebrar a tradição centenária do filme policial em se valer do “whodunit?” ou seja o famoso “quem matou?”.

Nos filmes da série COLUMBO o espectador sabia, desde o início do filme, quem era o assassino. O barato da história era descobrir não quem matou, mas como COLUMBO iria pegar o vilão? Qual seria a estratégia do obstinado policial para – depois de cercar e atormentar por todas as formas o bandido – dar o cheque mate?

Neste particular, Peter Falk criou um personagem antológico. Ele ganhou mais de 20 prêmios por seus trabalhos como ator e teve mais de 25 indicações, inclusive duas para o Oscar. Entre os filmes notáveis dele, estão ASAS DO DESEJO, de Wim Wenders, OS MARIDOS, de John Cassavetes e A CORRIDA DO SÉCULO, extraordinária comédia de Blake Edwards.

Peter Falk faleceu em 2011. Marcou a história do cinema com seu inesquecível Tenente Columbo.

I went back to reviewing the first episodes of the first season (available on NOW and Amazon Prime Video on the IMDB TV app) and it was a delicious movie experience.
