Com todos os estereótipos possíveis (é verdade que o filme debocha abertamente do duelo entre gringos e cucarachos, GRINGO consegue criar algumas situações realmente muito engraçadas.
Charlize Theron, ótima atriz, além de lindíssima como sempre, faz o papel da ambiciosa sócia da empresa Elaine Markinson que não hesita em fazer qualquer coisa para subir na vida. Seu parceiro de diretoria é o tramposo Richard Rusk, papel do australiano Richard Edgerton (BOY ERASED). O terceiro nome do elenco, embora seja protagonista na maioria das cenas é o infeliz Harold Soynka, vivido pelo ator inglês David Oyelovo (SELMA). Ainda tem no elenco as atrizes Amanda Seyfried, Paris Jackson e Tandie Newton. Um ótimo elenco.
GRINGO é um filme padrão. Embora aborde vários temas interessantes, em nenhum deles se aprofunda muito. O objetivo é muito mais divertir do que proporcionar reflexões. Por isto, seu melhor ativo são as cenas cômicas decorrentes das confusões que Harry se envolve no submundo das drogas do México.
No campo policial, a trama é quase simplória e tem cenas de mortes e violência um pouco acima do tom. Mas a produção é caprichada e deótimo nível.
GRINGO prende a atenção pelos 111 minutos de sua duração. nada além disto.
