Quem (ou o que) é EGOT?

A imprensa americana que cobre o entretenimento criou uma palavra “EGOT” para qualificar os (raros) artistas que ganharam os prêmios Emmy (TV), Golden Globe (Cinema e TV), Oscar(Cinema) e Tony (Teatro). Para se ter uma ideia de como isto é difícil, até hoje são apenas 12 pessoas. Está certo que há mais 6 artistas chamados que ganharam os quatro prêmios, mas pelo menos um deles honorário. E ainda os que estão quase lá. Vamos às listas:

EGOTS: Richard Rodgers; Helen Hayes; Rita Moreno; John Gielgud; Audrey Hepburn; Marvin Hamlisch; Jonathan Tunick; Mel Brooks; Mike Nichols; Whoopi Goldberg; Scott Rubin; Robert Lopez; Andrew Lloyd Webber; Tim Rice; e John Legend.

EGOTS com Prêmio Honorário: Barbra Streisand; Liza Minelli; James Earl Jones; Alan Menken; Harry Belafonte; e Quincy Jones.

São todos grandes artistas.

The American press covering entertainment created a word “EGOT” to qualify the (rare) artists who won the Emmy (TV), Golden Globe (Movies and TV), Oscar (Movies) and Tony (Theater) awards. To get an idea of how difficult this is, there are only 12 people today. It is certain that there are 6 more artists called who won the four awards, but at least one of them honorary.
