Quando a Paramount lançou 1883, a prequel de YELLOWSTONE (série estrelada por Kevin Costner já na quinta temporada) com histórias da chegada da Família Dutton à América, me interessei muito. Fui imediatamente ver o ótimo Sam Elliott liderar as famílias cruzando os Estados Unidos, em meios a perigos múltiplos mostrados de forma nunca antes vista no cinema.
A violência e crueza da história – que acho deve ser próxima do que realmente ocorria – tem estupros, ataques de índios, bandoleiros bêbados, animais agressivos atacando inesperadamente, acidentes de percurso em uma viagem precária em todos os sentidos.
O resultado foram cenas de violência demasiadas e muito gráficas para o meu gosto.
De qualquer sorte, neste décimo e último capítulo, significativamente intitulado “Este Não É o Seu Céu”, o produtor e idealizador da série Taylor Sheridan resolveu dar ao final de temporada um tom niostálgico, lírico e quase poético.
As cenas finais são belíssimas e idílicas.
Claro que o episódio não abriu mão de mais um personagem que perdeu uma perna. Parece ser obrigatório.
De qualquer sorte, Sam Elliott, a bela e competente Isabel May, os ótimos Tim McGraw e Faith Hill e Graham Greene tiveram cenas muito bonitas para exercitar a arte de representar.
Segundo se anuncia, 1883 não terá uma segunda temporada. Mas outras histórias dos primórdios da Família Dutton nos EUA irão gerar spin offs da série.
De qualquer sorte 1883 deixou sua marca.

I immediately went to see the great Sam Elliott lead families across the United States, in environments and multiple dangers shown in a way never seen before in cinema.
Anyway, in this tenth and final chapter, significantly titled “This Isn’t Your Heaven“, series producer and creator Taylor Sheridan decided to give the season finale a nostalgic, lyrical and almost poetic tone.
The final scenes are beautiful and idyllic.
Of course, the episode didn’t give up yet another character who lost a leg. It seems to be mandatory.
Anyway, Sam Elliott, the beautiful and competent Isabel May, the great Tim McGraw and Faith Hill and Graham Greene had very beautiful scenes to exercise the art of acting.
According to the announcement, 1883 will not have a second season. But other stories from the beginnings of the Dutton Family in the US will generate spin offs of the series.
Anyway, 1883 left its mark.
