A NETFLIX lançou nesta semana SPIDERHEAD, um drama distópico dirigido Joseph Kosinski. O filme é baseado numa história curta originalmente publicada pela Revista New Yorker, que, inclusive aparece como co-produtora.
A trama mostra, em um futuro próximo, uma experiência realizada com condenados onde um laboratório testa drogas capazes de alterar o estado anímico das cobaias humanas.
A experiência é feita em uma instalação sem grandes cautelas de segurança, em uma ilha paradisíaca onde os presos são colocados em situação de liberdade. Mas cada um deles aceita expressamente testar as drogas, que lhe são injetadas na coluna, a partir de uma “caixinha” controlada remotamente.
O chefe da experiência é o cientista Abnesti (Chris Hemsworth, o Thor da MARVEL carece de qualidade para dar maior profundidade ao personagem). O principal, entre os condenados é Jeff, vivido pelo ascendente Miles Teller, astro da série THE OFFER e do ótimo WHIPLASH. É o melhor ator em cena.
Entre as mulheres, destaque para a nova iorquina Jurnee Smollett e para a australiana Tess Haubrich.
Este tipo de distopia é um gênero interessante. Achei o roteiro bem interessante.
Acho que um elenco um pouco mais talentoso e uma direção mais inspirada fariam o filme bem melhor.
A produção é boa. O filme podia ser melhor.
NETFLIX this week released SPIDERHEAD, a dystopian drama directed by Joseph Kosinski.
The plot shows, in the near future, an experiment carried out with convicts where a laboratory tests drugs capable of altering the mental state of human guinea pigs.
The experiment takes place in a facility without major security precautions, on a paradise island where prisoners are released. But each of them expressly agrees to test the drugs, which are injected into the spine, from a remotely controlled “box”.
The head of the experiment is scientist Abnesti (Chris Hemsworth, MARVEL’s Thor lacks quality to give greater depth to the character). Chief among the condemned is Jeff, played by the ascendant Miles Teller, star of the series THE OFFER and the great WHIPLASH. He is the best actor on the scene.
Among the women, the highlight is the New Yorker Jurnee Smollett and the Australian Tess Haubrich.
This type of dystopia is an interesting genre. I found the script very interesting.
I think a slightly more talented cast and a more inspired direction would make the movie a lot better.
The production is good. The movie could have been better.
