CONFESSE, FLETCH: Novo Filme Vai Retomar o Personagem do Jornalista Investigativo Irwin Fletcher

Na minha adolescência, li vários livros escritos por Gregory McDonald, com o personagem do jornalista investigativo Irwin Maurice Fletcher, ou simplesmente “Fletch”, um corajoso repórter que não hesitava em se meter em perigo atrás de reportagens e denúncias. Morto em 2008, McDonald deixou oito livros estrelados por Fletch.

Houve dois filmes com o personagem Fletch, ambos protagonizados por Chevy Chase. FLETCH(1985) e FLETCH LIVES (1989). Nenhum deles me deixou boa impressão. Vou revê-los.

Agora em 16 de setembro de 2022, nos cinemas e no SHOWTIME vai ser lançado o filme CONFESS, FLETCH, dirigido por Greg Motola (SUPERBAD).

Jon Hamm, o ótimo ator de MADMEN vai ser Fletch, o que parece uma excelente escolha. O elenco é ótimo: Marcia Gay Harden, Lorenza Izzo (a chilena de KNOCK, KNOCK), Kyle MacLachlan (TWIN PEAKS), John Slattery, Ayden Mayeri, Owen Burke e Anna Osceola.

Ao tentar encontrar uma coleção de arte roubada, Fletch é acusado de cometer vários assassinatos. Seu ínico caminho é encontrar o real culpado antes da polícia.

Tomara que o filme tenha sucesso. Os livros de McDonald são histórias muito cinematográficas. Podem render uma franquia bastante interessante.

In my adolescence, I read several books written by Gregory McDonald, with the character of investigative journalist Irwin Maurice Fletcher, or simply “Fletch“, a courageous reporter who did not hesitate to put himself in danger after reports and denunciations. Dead in 2008, McDonald left eight books starring Fletch.

There have been two films featuring the Fletch character, both starring Chevy Chase. FLETCH(1985) and FLETCH LIVES (1989). None of them left a good impression on me. I will review them.

Now on September 16, 2022, in theaters and on SHOWTIME will be the movie CONFESS, FLETCH, directed by Greg Motola (SUPERBAD).

Jon Hamm, the great actor from MADMEN is going to be Fletch, which sounds like an excellent choice. The cast is great: Marcia Gay Harden, Lorenza Izzo (the Chilean from KNOCK, KNOCK), Kyle MacLachlan (forever the Agent Dale Cooper from TWIN PEAKS), John Slattery, Ayden Mayeri, Owen Burke and Anna Osceola.

While trying to find a stolen art collection, Fletch is accused of committing several murders. His only path is to find the real culprit before the police do.

I hope the film is successful. McDonald’s books are very cinematic stories. They can yield a very interesting franchise.
